@@kirkcoatsccc594 not anymore. Haven't lived in the KC area in quite awhile. According to some videos though I've seen they still make daylight appearances. Hopefully you'll be able to catch them soon. Happy railfanning.

I grew up and stay next door to a company called Alton and Southern railroad and I had just got off work while sitting in my truck but to looked up and see these flashing lights on this engine and so I thought I was tripping because it's night but I drove to catch up with the engine to realize that it's the St Louis Polar Express engine in my neighborhood pulling regular train cars and I'm like woooow unsuspected but im happy i saw it 😮😊❤

Thinking of working my way over to the Beardstown Sub in the near future. Some interesting traffic on that line. Ever go check it out?
@CRSD60I2 ай бұрын
@@ChadsRailfanExperience that's a good idea you've got. Can be a neat line. I haven't caught anything on it in a few months but I've railfanned it a few times in the last couple years. Mostly around Centralia, IL. The busiest part of the line is north of Walsh Junction. That's where traffic from the metro east (stuff of the Terminal and the A&S) gets off the UP Pana sub and heads north.
@CRSD60I2 ай бұрын
NS also has trackage rights from Litchfield, IL to Centralia, IL for coal trains going to and from the Hillsboro, IL coal mine off the old nickel plate cloverleaf main. They've been running 430/431 between Sorento, IL and Centralia, IL for a couple years now. They also run a 404/405 from Litchfield, IL to Sorento, IL. So if those are running that'll throw in a bit of variety for you as well.
