After working at the airport for close to 40 years. I talk to many travelers who have been to many different countries. One lady told me she says whenever you go to the interior of a country people are very wary of newcomers And stranger. S. Coastal cities are usually more. Accommodating.

You forgot Guatemala. I have been to 5 continents and even lived in Italy for close to 3 years. Guatemala is the only country where people spit or hold their noses when they pass by me. And that is on a daily basis. I had observed some people that would reach for some kind of weapon in their pockets or shoulder bags when they see me coming from a block away. Many people here won't respond when i ask a question, especially the dark skinned indians.
