Thank you for showing us your crafts! I’ve always wanted to see them. My favorite… for this moment anyway… is the ivory paint on the peat pots! What a great idea! And now I feel suddenly like I’m behind on my preparations for Christmas. 🤦🏻♀️🤣 And your booth is amazing!

I had Al watch some of your video. He asked if it was mandatory that crafters use words like "thingys"!! I call things thingamabobs, whatchamacallits, etc. caz I have some problems with wordsearching (the official term!). He was amazed at the prices you are able to get. I, too, look for trucks; last year I made a firetruck for Al's brother, a volunteer fire fighter! This year I made gnomes with yarn (like latchhooked) on a strip of toilet paper tube turned into a hat in team colors and will add a football, basketball, or baseball button! Fat white pom pom for the head, and a wooden bead or half bead for his nose. As we say in Maine, "wicked cunning." Good luck with your show!

Adorable...loved them all. I'm not crafty like you, but I'm going to try the spools and trucks with ribbons and trees.

I love your show and I love you showing us pieces with paid for and ten retail prices. I have so much stuff from grandmother who grew up during the depression. I was raised by her and when I bought stuff I would buy one for her and one for me. Have way too much need to start selling. You show is getting me inspired now and am retired so have time to do it. Thanks for sharing your information and getting my dream to (eventually) come true. You are a blessing.

I love that you always bought one for yourself and one for her, Pam. It blesses me to know that you enjoy my channel and that it has inspired you. Best wishes on your efforts to start selling and don't forget, I have lots of resources on my website that offer help in getting started on Etsy and with an antique booth :)

I am not familiar with Hoosier jars. I only know about Hoosier cabinets. Would you tell us more about the jars?
@dianapetrillo22 күн бұрын
I'm not sure if they came with the cabinets or were simply sold as accessories. The jars that I'm familiar with are paneled and have aluminum lids that come in various sizes. The larger ones are often embossed, like the coffee one in this video. Hope that helps!

I'd put a Christmas greenery "wreathe" with a Christmas bow and maybe a bell around the bunny's neck and see if he goes for Christmas...Easter will always come again! That gravy boat would be great on the children's table for Thanksgiving! Those serving spoons are perfect for the Holidays, too! I have had good luck soaking lopsided baskets in warm-hot water for 10-15 minutes. If you can find a bowl/jar/whatever very close in shape, insert it, re-round it and let it dry with the bowl inside it! It is also great for "reweaving" a reed that has come unwoven without it snapping off. I love smalls; people with spend $3-15 whereas they might not spend more on themselves these days! I know nothing about the aesthetic movement; it would be a great area for you to explore in another post!

As always, tons of great ideas Kathy--thank you for sharing them, especially the one for straightening out baskets! I've added the aesthetic movement to my list of blog post ideas :)

I love seeing your haul videos! The little yellow creamer is Hazel Atlas (the Gay Rainbow pattern). It comes in yellow, red (orange), blue and green. I have the blue and green creamers. I don't think there are any other pieces to this pattern, just the creamers.

Thompson Co. Inc. 1915 was a humidor company. So, this item may have been a holster for cigars and the cigar cutter would have gone in the pocket.

I love books with pretty endpapers; it is one of the few things I liked about the older Reader's Digest condensed books! I loved the toothpicker holder and Limoges plate; pink roses on old dishes remains among my top faves! Please look closely at your pressed flower pin; I got a pair of earrings; the "flowers" turned out to be a print; I got suspicious when the 2 earrings were EXACTLY alike!

I do so wish you'd let your "Maine fans" know you were in Ogunquit. When I lived in NH we would go once or twice a summer! Hope you got to go to the antique places in Arundel--some of my faves. I would have made the 2 hr. trip to meet you!!! I loved the little bell; I have had good luck replacing clappers in glass bells with a glass bead on a chain/cord, etc. The glass makes a lovely sound vs. the lighter weight of a jingle bell! Maybe even a small lead sinker?? I think your basket junk angel being hollow would also make a great tree topper for a larger tree! Or maybe a battery candle inside! I have a pair of those Amish dolls in my collection of small dolls, mostly international ones! She would be great in a kid's school report as a prop! I would have put your little basket in a dollhouse bathroom with some "laundry" hanging out of it before the cat could lick his ear!
@dianapetrillo22 күн бұрын
Hey Kathy I will next time, I promise. It was a sort of last minute trip (I needed a break from care-giving.) We didin't make it quite as far as Arundel, but again, next time! Thanks for the glass bead tip-and all the others :)

I love how you’re able to see the potential in things that I would have walked right past. You must have magical laser focus to sort through piles, and tables, and shelves of dross to pick out the treasures!! I learn something new with every video. That autumn 🍂 leaf wreath is amazing, and the wreath with berries is super sweet. I honestly can’t wait to see what the other boxes hold, and your admission that the boxes have been sitting undisturbed since you brought them home makes me feel soooo much better about my own, as yet, unprocessed, unphotographed, unpriced, and unlisted (yet exciting & beautiful) hunting finds lol. Thank you for being completely, totally, and refreshingly YOU!! Big hugs always, Shauna xoxoxo

Haha, I love that "magical laser focus"!! I think I must Shauna! I do so enjoy hunting and poking and peering behind and below to find the good stuff. One of the (many) things I appreciate about you is that you have vision for how things can be used. That buttter knife presentation box is something I would pick up hoping someone will see potential. And the same goes for the post cards and frame. I think I’ve mentioned before that I frame vintage Christmas cards. They really are tiny pieces of art. Some people make fun of me for buying things that don’t immediately make sense, but I really like how they represent hope and promise and potential in life. I love that you buy them too.

I love the primitive look to that sleigh. I have a small collection of Shiny Brites, and I cringed with you when that one fell. I have a few from during World War II that don't have the silvering inside. Would you price those higher than regular ones? I also love Christmas tree pins. You find so much that I wish I had!
@dianapetrilloАй бұрын
My feeling is that I'd price the WW II ones lower--just my gut feeling. Take a look on eBay and Etsy to see how others are pricing (and selling) them for-
