My 8th gen 2011 4 door si is having lockout problems. In the last 5 days, i reverse then cant shift to 1st nor 2 or 3rd, turn car off, i can shift. The gears pop oaut of gear so easy when i pull back on the shifter knob with foot off the pedal. Car is tuned, race headers, exhaust, vit viper tune, 8lb flywheel, stage 3 clutch, short throw shifter, motor mounts. Anyone have a clue? Is if the CMC? Slave? or WHAT?

9 years later and this video absolutely saved me. For the past 6 months, my 9th gen Si began grinding randomly when shifting in 2nd or reverse gear so I had to start skipping 2nd gear when driving and going from 1st to 3rd. Honda tried to tell me the transmission needed to be replaced and I did not have $10k they wanted to do that. Saw this video randomly the other night and this little adjustment has completely erased the issue. Absolute legend. Forever grateful for people like you 🙏

does it really help? my 07 civic si seems to always grind in reverse and when launching it is almost guaranteed to grind in 2nd or not go in at all

Take a quarter or 50 cent piece, throw it in the diaphragm an use the chemical resistant JB weld an fill it. Now u can power shift with no grinds. That diaphragm is there to slow the fluid down. Now it will be straight threw. You're welcome or pay $200 for a hybrid racing one that shifts identical.

To me this looks like what Rocket science would be like. Anything other than cosmetics and the simple intake upgrades I know dog shit about car engines and I envy anyone that is knowledgeable about cars and how they operate

Thought you would be able to easily reach 60mph in second gear... PPG ratios are taller than stock and ur reving to 8k... Kind of disappointed top speed is about 58mph in second. Would be nice if u could do 0 - 60 without having to shift to 3rd for the last ~2mph...

Just installed the em1 cmc on my 9th gen, fucken hate it. The clutch engagement is too high. Will switch out to stock cmc with cdv delete slave.

For everyone asking his oil recommendations it is. 5w30 minimal and he uses 10w30. From what I have read in his comments.

Man!!!!!! Your video saved my ass!! Replaced the CMC and wasn't sure why I still was locked out of gear.. whether it was more bleeding or adjusting the pedal.. Didn't even realize I could just loosen the jam nut and spin the cmc rod.. thought I was gonna have to take that clevis pin out and remove the bracket bolts to spin the cmc rod with the end on it. Got the rod threaded out some and now I can shift again, hallelujah 🙌 Also my pedal bracket was broken and I had to weld it. Fun stuff man.

definitely a head swap. i have a fb6 & it would take a miracle to get my 2.4 to string out to anything past 8k. I actually wanna swap my head out for a k20.

Grab some drop in cams, skunk 2 or 4 piston racing, I went skunk 2 stage 1 and have my tach set for 8500.

@janushannj4725 have close to 10k on them now, done 2 valve adjustments, 1 after the break in period, and once when I did the timing chain. No issue's so far.
