Better in the old days. Typically too man-made manufactured and manicured now. How long since the lake has emptied into the ocean? We used to have to paddle across it.

Would you be able to let me know the tranitting experience? Did you simply go from arrivals to departures and not leave the international side of the airport? Did you need a visa to enter? Did you go through customs? Or just go straight to your flight?
@dainflightz9574 ай бұрын
Hey Tiffany, great question. For Sydney to LA, we left the plane, went into the terminal but didn't actually fully clear customs. As you walk along the corridor towards Customs you branch off to the side where it says International Transit and go through a doorway. In the transit area you show your boarding pass for the Nadi-LA leg (given to you at check in in Sydney) and your passport. They check your details, then go through a metal detector and carry on bag x-ray, then you exit through another door out into the main departures area of the terminal where you can go get food, sit down, go to the lounge, etc.

@@dainflightz957 Really appreciate the fast response. This was helpful. Just trying to understand the process as I might fly back hom to Australia with my Assistance Dog and looking at choosing this route via Nadi for its business class seat. But transit can be tricky when youre dealing with import permits in Australia.

You're welcome. If it helps, the FJ staff were really wonderful. They couldn't do enough to help you. I'm sure that once you deal with the red tape in Australia (good luck with that lol) you won't have any issues with the Fiji side of things.

Thanks very much for this. This is the first time I've come across your channel. I'll be flying that route NAN-LAX in August, and this is a really helpful review. Thanks

No worries at all. This was my first review video so I'm glad you found it useful. I'd fly FJ to the USA again in a heartbeat. If you have any questions feel free to let me know. Cheers.

I've actually heard that FIJI can not only use the Star Alliance, but also the Oneworld lounges, and some people with Business Class tickets have managed to get into Qantas First in LAX and for sure Qantas Business. I do know for a fact that on the SYD>NAN leg, FIJI Business can use the Qantas First lounge at Sydney.

They need doors in the business class section. And new FA uniforms.

You landed with a quartering tailwind hence a little drift on landing. Its not a requirement to land on the lines its just a guide to let the PF know where the middle of the runway is. Runway 02 for landings and Runway 20 for takeoffs are preferred at NFFN except in exceptional weather. Don't need the music.

Interesting they are a One World Connect partner but they utilise the Star Alliance lounges.
@dainflightz9577 ай бұрын
I thought the same. Apparently they use the One World lounge now, but at the time of this video it was the SA lounge.

Thanks mate. It was a bit tricky to start out flying backwards, then pan to a point where I was flying forwards - plus adjust the tilt - and fight the wind, which was so strong I was getting warnings on the screen to land asap. I'm going to try again next time the picnic train comes down again and it's a nice day. I'll get a lot closer next time.

Great video. Well done. I genuinely love watching and making these types of videos. I’m also trying to encourage other small channels to supporting each other into growing into larger channels quicker and easier. If you’re keen all I ask is that you subscribe to my channel (see link below) leave a comment that your subbed, and a like. I’ll then do the same and sub, comment & like yours.This way we can all grow into larger channels together. kzbin.info/door/4XW_sOJilvMuiJykWVtEVw?view_as=subscriber
