After listening to all of their earlier work, I have to say that though your newer drummer has a large kit and a lot of power, the sound that James put out had such finesse and flair, that I think was more adapted to your style of awesome music. Regardless, you guys put out better, more unique music with your simple three piece ensemble than much larger groups. I saw you in Asheville in January and was simply blown away by your musical expertise!

This was one of the best sets in the history of Groundup Fest, and I’ve attended them all….much thanks for posting this….though I am still disappointed that streaming service that covered the fest never posted the pro video of the set, as one of the honchos promised me would happen..so all the more grateful to have this version…..

It was really great. If I had an inkling that the cameras that were right in front of me were not going to post, I would have made an attempt to hold steady. It was too much fun otherwise.

Love Nate Smith. Love him even more for 2 more reasons, those being he's a Ludwig man like myself, and that he's using my go-to snare drum, the Acrolite 5x14..

Great to see someone inventive in terms of tonality and dynamics, as opposed to the overly bombastic approach used by many drummers in solos.
