Thanks. I was thinking about making one of these, and saw your video. My thought is a shorter chain would help control how much of the surface area the chain is engaging with. Pulling it around a bend is a LOT of surface to drag a the chain across and through. Shorter chain would allow your arms to extend and cut flatter..

Seems like a dumb question, but I know I need to check to make sure the flue is open with a traditional fireplace. How do I do that with this woodstove insert?

You don't have to worry about it as it should have been locked open or removed when your insert was installed

Thanks a million, I'm just not getting any volts to the upper thermostat, and I an thinking it's a faulty wire between the water heater box that is showing power, but no volt reading to the upper thermostat.

I have a 35' chimney that is lined with rockwool. My stove is a modern super efficient EPA stove. We've been smoked out many times. We always make sure no exhaust fans are on when we start the stove. Last time I put 4 candles in the stove for half an hour, and then placed a hot plate in the stove for 1 hour. the little fan came on but the lined chimney stayed cool. I started it with the upside down method, and got a roaring fire going. As soon as I closed the door the fire went out. It refused to draw. I'm thinking of putting a blower contraption on the lined flue to warm the stack. Is there such a thing on the market?

Its a good idea 2 run ac cap hard start kits to ur ac devices 2 reduce the amt of flyback drawdown 2 ur inverter. There will still b ac flyback & drawdown on device startup going bk 2 ur inverter, but it will b minimized bcuz the drawdown current is being provided by the hard start cap kit, & not the inverter, the fly back 2 the inverter will also b minimized 2 well within safe operational tolerances. Keep in mind that as automated ac devices like fridges, freezer, air con, use compressors & fans that kick in or out at will across an ac circuit causing massive spikes & flyback within the live ac circuit. Meaning, if ur air con is running on the same circuit as ur microwave, normally u pop the breaker everytime. Same thing should happen if u were smart enuf 2 add a (sub) breaker box 2 the inverters ac side. Creating ur standard 15a ac circuit. The air con runs on 6a, but requires a startup of 13.5a to turnover. The microwave runs on 8a, but requires 13.5a 2 turnover. If u start them both at the same time, the breaker will kick out, its can't supply more than 15a on a 120vac circuit, but 2gether, they need 27a 2 turn ovr. Breaker will kick out. Likewise if u start either 1 & then the other, it will still kick out, bcuz no matter which u start 1st, bcuz the standard ac 12/2 or 14/2 awg (depending on ur wiring codes) always has a resistance of 0.5a. So ur total impedance is either 15a or above. Adding a hard start kit will supply a good chunk of amperage right at the device, lowering how much amperage it needs 2 pull thru the wire from ur inverter. Instead of 13.5a drawdown on startup, u can cut that down by half or better if u install the correct hard start kit. Now both the air con & microwave can start @same time, since the drawdown is less than 7a for ea unit on startup, & 0.5a on the wire, the draw nvr exceeds 14.5a, just under what the 15a breaker can provide safely. Now, u won't pop a breaker when u t on microwave while air con is running, neither will ur inverter kick off bcuz its surpassed its startup draw rating. Decent 1000w inverters r generally designed 2 handle a voltage draw/amperage spike of 50% above its rated use, of 1000w. Ur inverter should meet those industry standards or above. So it should now b able 2 handle the loads without damaging itself, or ur batteries if they r hooked directly 2 the inverter.

Basically, what u need is a hard start kit 4 ur ac tools. What happened when u connected the ac cap 2 the inverter, u caused a massive voltage spike aka flyback between the drill press & the inverter cuz ur ac wires runout between the 2 was 2 long, which increases the impedance greatly. This is y all 3 phase ac motors such as the ones found in ur air con unit which require a high startup draw (amperage) r mounted directly to the motor inside the air con unit. Using the shortest connection possible 4 the least amount of impedance to the motor. All the extra runout causes the wire 2 heat up, making the copper atoms vibrate via thermal expansion. Like installing vibrators 4 wet cement on ur air hockey table, the transition between both goals at ea end is the wire, the vibrators the heat, as soon as u send the puck from ur goal directly 2 the opposing goal w a hard push, u immediately notice a loss in power. The vibration effectively caused the puck 2 tack across the table like a sailboat, w a high speed camera, u can watch it in real time. When the angle of incidence changes from 0°\45°\90° in a normal angles in an ac sine wave, it becomes choppy. As seen in the puck, some energy is lost, as the current no longer flows in a smooth wave, in the wire, this is called noise. Like the puck the added angles added by the vibration increaded the distance the puck must travel 2 reach the goal, adding more friction (impedance), which can cause enuf energy loss 2 prevent the puck from even reaching the goal (the LV alarm on inverter sounds & the inverter kicks off.) U can increase the efficiency of ur ac system but adding hard start kits where ever u need them. Fridges, freezers, ac, coffee pots, blenders, heaters. This will eliminate the fly back, draw down on startup, & LV inverter kick out. Also, all flyback is xfer'd thru ur inverter directly 2 ur dc audio capacitor. If u didn't have that the flyback would directly hit ur batteries ea time a motor or compressor kicks in, & severely damage them. Usually this causes the cells to no longer charge above 80%, which is the main part of the load provided from the cells 2 the system. 2 prevent this, u will need 2 add the correct voltage amt of dc caps between ur battery bank & ur inverter. If ur system is 24v, u will need a bank of capacitors in series, since most super or ultra caps run at 3v or under. (Use highest Faraday rating possible) Common standard is 2.7vdc, operating @ 2.5vdc. Need at least 12. They need a control, monitoring, & charge circuit, but luckily the come pre-made in 12v banks w all that built in. U will need dc fuses installed just in case. Now u can wire both 12 v in series 2 make 24v. U can expand ur cap bank by adding another 24v cap bank in parallel behind the 1st. This will provide u w extra space 2 hold the electrons outside of batteries capacity, & provide the extra current/amperage any electrical device requires on the ac side of the inverter, causing any fly bk from reaching ur batteries & destroying the most expensive paet of ur whole system. Caps r cheap in comparison, even the new graphene ultra caps.

Borax can also be toxic to the reproductive and developmental systems, as well as the brain and nervous system. The degree of toxicity depends on the amount or concentration of borax a person is exposed to. Children and infants are especially sensitive to borax.

Elements are really bad And the 3rd thing , someone ran a three conductor wire with ground, and landed the nutural wire with the ground wires at the grounding Lug on top of the tank

My wife got me the brunts as a gift the marketing got her, I'm a Thorogood guy personally, the brunts are comfortable but thats about it, I would never wear them to work, I'm constantly up and down ladders and i can tell right off the bat there is either no reinforced shank or the one in it is super low quality, Ill stick to thorogood for work and use the brunts as a yard boot or a shop boot when im working on the car.

does your door glass have a slight gap 1/8 or 1/4" gap at the top of the glass pane where it meets the rope gasket? Looking at mine there's almost a tiny gap across the top that I hadn't noticed before. Door fits snug and the rope is getting old and may need replaced? Not sure if that air gap is intentional or not

Got 2 pairs of these in both colors. The tan ones are more for dress and the black one for working. I actually keep the black ones in my locker at work. I did get sears die hard moc toe for home and they're more robust than these but for the price the ever boot is good and there's almost no break in period which was even better. Im not in the trades and I imagine these will last years for me.
