Recently purchased a clone para 3 for $25 in G10. Maybe D2, sharp and the action is great. Here in the UK the real P3 is 200 pounds, cheaper Spys in 13 mov from China are around 60-70 so I'm happy buying a Chinese clone. I do own a real UKPK but rarely carry it. Thanks for sharing.

I just received mine back from Taurus with the same problem I sent it in for warranty work they said they replaced the magazine spring and it feels the exact same way very little pressure to push in button, magazine still drops out to easy. I can not carry this gun I have lost all confidence and can not trust that the magazine won't drop out when I pull it out of my soft holster like it did 3 times in the past.. VERY DISAPPOINTED with Taurus.

I'm curious the striker guide on a Glock is plastic just like the Taurus but Glock doesn't recommend changing it especially with a metal one because the surrounding components are plastic as well and plastic to plastic contact is ok but adding a metal one would eat that plastic up quick. Is it not the same on a Taurus

The old 85 grips are, thus far, my favorites for my 856. The new OEM grip not coming up the full back strap messes with my grip, and the bit behind the trigger guard is profiled poorly, so it kills my middle finger. I see you too have been burned by Altamont, I genuinely think they're the most overpriced and overrated grips in the game. I've never had a set for my J or my Colt DS that fit properly.

It isn't forgiving at all, for that bad behavior. I also picked up the night sights. I was never really happy with the laser, so the night sights were still a solid upgrade. The Pachmayer grips that I showed at the beginning and end of the video? Yeah, there is just a tiny bit of play when they're installed. My band-aid fix was to use tape to fill up the gap. I was thinking about putting a thin layer of epoxy on the inside of the grip and sand it to fit exactly, but I haven't attempted that yet. Just searched on ebay and found MBT grips for this revolver. They look like they could be good, but I've never tried them or even heard of them.

The sear should not have popped up immediately. It should stay down until the slide recoils and pushes down on the trigger bar (disconnector part of the trigger bar). I doubt it would hurt anything to have it pop up immediately, but it's definitely not supposed to. It wasn't designed to do that anyways. I think having a slight bit of over-travel in your trigger can cause that. If the trigger bar gets pushed against the back of the trigger housing where it is stopped, it can cause the trigger bar to drop slightly and release the sear. You can actually take the housing (or whatever it's called by Taurus) and the trigger/trigger bar and then actuate them outside of the gun. Without the striker pushing down on the (top of) sear though, the trigger bar won't always engage the sear. The area of engagement is outrageously small, so that if the striker isn't pushing the sear down like 0.002", then the trigger bar might not be able to engage the bottom of the sear. (You can lightly push it down with your finger if you can't get it to engage if you have to). I like the Taurus trigger design, because it's unique to them and it's a pretty good, safe design... but I think the way they went about the design was foolish, with them making the parts with such an immensely small trigger bar/sear engagement (so even the smallest things can cause failures).

Is it normal for a GX4 to have no audible or tactile reset at all? Like a Glock for example, After you fire it and the slide reciprocates, when you release the trigger to shoot again, you hear and feel the trigger reset... but on a GX4 I test fired, there was no audible or tactile trigger reset at all. I didn't know if that's normal or if it was just a defective one (also the G2 and G3 guns, because they function very similar). There was a very, very slight audible and tactile reset, but it was almost unnoticeable. I'm not sure if people are really right about how important having a tactile/audible reset is, because when in a self defense situation you're probably not going to even notice them... but a lot of people think it's one of the most important aspects of a trigger and that if a trigger doesn't have an audible/tactile reset, then the gun isn't worthy of being a carry gun. Many good carry guns don't have that though... and some guns like the LCP models, the P3AT/P32, The TCP and some others have a "false reset" where you hear and feel two clicks, but only the 2nd one is the real reset. A lot of people hated on the S&W CSX, because it had a false reset... and I think it didn't get a fair shot, because of that. It's not a bad gun in my opinion. Anyways... Is it normal for a GX4 and/or the G2 or G3 models to not have an audible or tactile reset at all?
@SpikyArms5 ай бұрын
I can feel and heard the reset on my GX4xl, but it is pretty weak. If you're dry firing, you'll notice. If you're actually firing the thing, I could see how you could miss it. The false reset you mentioned is much more annoying to me. Thankfully the GX4 doesn't have that issue.

Just stamp your own serial number on it. I have a PF940SC that has 1k flawless rounds through it. Serial numbers don't mean anything they are just random characters that a company decides to put on their products. Just stamp your own serial number on it. Either that or send it out and have it serialized - wouldn't cost too much. I think that totally goes against the ethos of building one of these in the first place, though.
@SpikyArms5 ай бұрын
I thought about adding my own serial number. I got some steel punch stamps to do it, but didn't go through with it. I bet they'd call it a ghost gun anyway since there's no 4473 form out there for it, and the manufacturer doesn't have a record of the serial number. Untraceable. Problem: very slowly pull on trigger closest to barrel. above the trigger safety. trigger will go in mushy, but no click (striker did not release). let go of trigger and try pulling trigger again. no fire. jiggle gun or tilt the slide to right side and the striker pin will release. pulling the trigger roughly again will also release the striker. Analysis: the striker edge is caught on the sear. maybe the metal is rough, so jiggling the slide will release the striker. Solution: take apart the gun, remove the striker. Using blue polish stuff + dremel, polish the striker lip/edge and the sear on the slide to a mirror finish. No more trigger problem. Without any gun oil, the trigger should release the striker smoothly. Add oil and it is a buttery trigger.

You are correct. This problem happens on my G3C. Side pressure on the trigger will cause the trigger bar to miss the sear, which results in a dead trigger. These triggers may fail under stress. @upinarms792 ай бұрын
You might consider PSA parts, at least for 19 and 43/43x clones. As far as I can tell they're as good as actual Glock components but cheaper. I built my first 19 clone with them and it runs like a champ. I also built a 26 clone and it ran like garbage because I used some cheap ebay parts kit, until I replaced them PSA upper parts. I thought it was the slide at first , because I also used a Patmos slide, but it was just cheap parts. I've also had good luck with Gorilla Machining's parts kits.
