What an impressive set of questions and answers by the panel of candidates! I am glad we have a tough choice from so many thoughtful and well qualified public servants. The most critical role of a Council Member seems to me now to be able to "stop the steamroller" when wealthy individual and business interests dominate how issues are framed and when and how choices are presented for decision before all ordinary citizens have a chance to understand and participate.in informed discussion and advocacy for their interests. That's why, along with many other reasons, I believe having Gary Bledsoe on Austin's City Council is exactly what all of Austin and especially District 7 needs NOW. If I could have attended, I would have asked this minor issue which might reveal a candidate's knowledge of Austin's unevenly distributed public resources: "Why is that Austin has no public tennis court in any park north of Anderson Lane?

Mike Siegel's #1 priority for district 7 is reproductive rights for women? What the hell man?! You do realize that you are running for city council, not governor, attorney general, etc, right? Can someone tell Mike that he's not running for congress again?

What a steaming pile of communist propoganda! The art in the video harks back to 1950's posters from the USSR. Anytime you hear the word "equity" in reference to anything other than the acrued vaule of an assset, you can bet that socialism/communism is being referenced.

Can we get some good coffee near by or healthy food options ASAP? I feel like there is many apartments being built but no food or other essential stuff can we also get a bridge built that is high traffic area where kids or adults have to cross on a daily. To prevent any accidents.

We just hired an overpriced City Manager that was fired from his last job. But hey, what's $470,000. I mean, I'm sure it's what is needed to pay for the amount of work done. Not like he's running the country or something that only pays $400,000, or merely the entire State of Texas for $153,750.
