Thank you for your comment! Sadly I think I've uploaded all that I could find missing from KZbin for the time being, at least when it comes to the Chantal period, spanning from S.47 to S.94. Aside from 16 tracks (which I’ve listed in my channel’s description), all the music made from that period is available online, even if often in poor quality or with incorrect titles. Now it’s up to the people who own the missing records to convert them to digital files and share them with the world. I mostly want to hear those few I mentioned in my reply to your other comment (i.e. “Mwana Ya Victorina”, “Mopanzi”, “Mobali Nakobala”, “Luka Na Yo Mosusu”, as well as “Fonshina” and “Bonne Année Na Lipopo”) since they’re rumba songs written by the band and not cover songs. However I'm considering buying that African Soul/Lucie Eyenga LP and uploading it. Good day!

Des voix limpides et une bonne sonorité des guitares : c'est ça l'african fiesta de dr Nico.

Woa, one can only imagine how formidable African Soul would have become had it successfully taken off. Indeed, this music sounds like a typical African Fiesta Sukisa's, so Dr Nico and co would have faced serious existential challenges from his minions in African Soul. This adds further intrigue into how/why Chantal perished. By the way, I recently learned that Bovic, the lone long surviving member of African Fiesta Sukisa, died in January 2024; with that, all members of that seminal band have joined their ancestors. What an end to such a remarkable epoch? Thanks for posting.

Yes, we will sadly never know. I'd very much like to hear the rest of the songs they released (there are 16 that I know of in total, including this one). I think that with Chantal and Sangana singing and writing they would have done great things. Especially Chantal, who truly was a charismatic, creative and remarkable singer, perhaps not a technically perfect one but the quality of his voice and his singularity made him stand out. It really makes you wonder where he would've gone with his career, especially considering how young he was during his time in Sukisa and what he'd achieved there. Yes, I imagine this was one of the early singles given how similar it is but I would need to hear other singles. De La France even plays that same little musical phrase as Dr. Nico at 1:06 and the guitar effect is very close to Nico’s as well. That being said I find that the dance part already shows a slight departure from the Sukisa sound. Hmm, I know that there are stories about Nico not helping him out when questioned but I wonder how much he knew about the whole affair. Surely there must have been some bitterness there. And of course Nico was not lying about Chantal not being in the band. That being said Sangana and De La France both joined Sukisa again in ’71. Yes I’d heard about Bovic’s passing some time ago and realised that it meant they had all passed away. Today is the 39th year since Nico Kasanda’s passing. It would be good if the few yet unreleased tracks were given to the public, like Chantal's "Mwana Ya Victorina" released on the 77th Sukisa single, "Mobali Nakobala", "Luka na yo mosusu", "Mopanzi" and others. The band deserves greater exposure.
