Humm, not really. I lived in Zurich and spent 3 years looking for an apartment. A total of 100 applications, with no answer. Lots of silent prejudice and literally hundreds of applicants per property which make people show their worst side: letting agents simply don't work and tenants do all their job. They filter applications per nationality and it is not uncommon for tenants to ask for a bribe just to forward your application to the letting agency (being the most common form to "offer" their old furniture for a ridiculously high price like CHF 4000). The result is crappy apartments similar to those in horror movies, costing at least CHF 2100 per month with neighbors like prostitutes. Expect the police to show up. To get a nice place like in this video for CHF 1500 you must be Swiss and very well connected. Those who can afford end up getting a bigger place than they need, just because there's less applicants. This is what I call the monthly cost of prejudice in Switzerland.

This is a great video. I’m planning to move to Switzerland soon, and I love this apartment. Do you think I could please get the name or that you could refer me to similarly styled apartments at that price?
