A brilliant actor with that deeply honey-dripping voice that conveys malice and pleasure in equal measure. James Spader. A true icon indeed. He could read sales tags from the toilet showroom at Home Depot or Loews? I'd be there. (For those still into it? The perfect ASMR voice.) Imagine James Spader's Raymond Reddington as your GPS voice: "Really? You're going to go that way instead? No. Not re-calculating. Wake me when you get lost. Again. Because you will. Of course I love Reddington's monologs, his wit, his knowledge of history, but most of all I love his tactics. Dembe is a giant part of that but even when they are separated, Red wins because he is smarter and more prepared than his opponents. Add in the creativity and ruthlessness and no one stood a chance

Oh Gods, this is beautiful, and reignites so much from my teen years. I can't believe nearly 2 decades later, and this is still one of my most favourite pairings whenever I stumble upon it. There was a deep undercurrent of genuine, ineffable love between them that I'm sad was never explored, (though I'm uncertain if it could ever have been portrayed the way we felt it.) It transcended lust and a fantasy crush into the realm of mutual understanding of their own irreparable damage.

Liz annoyed me so much she gets red thrown in prison on death row and he almost died and then all of a sudden she cares and feels bad then the whole show she's just a witch to him at times and then finally finds out who he is and can't kill him. Just an annoying wishy washy character I never rooted for. I was always team spader and loved red and dembe
