The ideology of "multiculturalism" is under criticism in much of Europe and outright rejected elsewhere. I can see that the city and its social conventions might be seen as its natural home.

My father and I, visited the Fairfield Heritage Museum yesterday, the reason for our visit was linked to one of our family ancestors, John Elder, being one of the founding fathers of the great shipyard, also my father was brought up in Govan, and remembers the sounds of the shipyard, as a small child, and places in the local area, some of which still survive. We enjoyed so much our visit to Fairfield, thank you to the staff for their warm welcome and eagerness to share the Fairfield story. We are very glad to hear that this beautiful historic building has been saved, Govan is once more open for business, and Fairfield is helping the area to rejuvenate. Once again, thank you to the volunteers and staff, and very well done, to everyone who has made this almost impossible task come back to a useful purpose.

Good to see there may be hope for The Whitevale Baths. The heinous crimes that was imposed upon the city in the name of progression throughout the years truly is shocking. Edinburgh managed to retain its old town and regenerate around it. Glasgow was always intent to demolish; decimate and destruct. Was good to see the Lion chambers on Hope St earlier. Was this a buiding preservation project? One gets a good view of it from atop a double decker bus. I recallyears back going to the stationers on the ground floor for supplies. Then one day it was closed. I was advised due to some upgrade works. It did however, re open- but seemed to disappear again pretty soon after. I never did find out why. Again, i'm unsure if the building is actually tenanted now, given i've not been up that way since pre covid... Hari

The Barras sold that unusual item you thought you could never buy again, and you paid pennies for it. Today's charity shops in the west end overcharge for such items. Cat's Protection in Crow Rd is the dark side of honest selling, they would sell their grandmother.

I think such work is really important for Glasgow as a city, which has some wonderful buildings! It would have had many more if past authorities had a bit of foresight and imagination, instead of knocking them down for the sake of it! The building which always comes to my mind in that regard is St Enoch Station and Hotel. It was a scandalous decision to demolish such a fantastic building, which could have added greatly to Glasgow's cultural heritage!

Surely the charge of High Treason is wrong! As none of the monarchs since 1707 have sworn the oath of allegiance to Scotland there is no monarch of Scotland. If treason is an offence against the Crown - the Crown of Scotland is its people, and these people were of the people, fighting for the people. This is a kangaroo court if ever their was one.

I visited there yesterday and I would highly recommend a visit there. My guide David was friendly, informative and witty. The visit gave me an insight into the lived experience of the Jewish community in Scotland and elsewhere. It is such a beautiful building and well worth a visit. On signing the visitor's book I noticed quite a lot of the visitors to the synagogue were American. I didn't realise people from outside Scotland would visit it.

There is no student accommodation to rent in Glasgow. Glasgow Uni has made no provision. They happily grab student's tuition fees, whilst lectures are cancelled due to strikes. Students are faced with nowhere to live, save expensive air B&Bs. Best to look at other universities in Scotland.
