I've found that medical providers almost always strongly recommend traditional Medicare over Medicare Advantage. But the problem is the premiums for Medicare Part B + Supplement + Part D drug plan will be at least a few hundred dollars a month, and can increase significantly as as one ages. That still doesn't get you dental or vision coverage. Many seniors are on reduced income, and just can't afford all of that, but don't qualify for assistance. So they end up on an Advantage plan. I've had non-Medicare employer group insurance for many years, that worked much like Medicare Advantage. HMO or PPO plans, with networks, and prior-authorizations required for certain services.

Dr. G. I’m 58 with a complete supraspinatus tear. It occurred 5 months ago. I have the expected decreased range of motion and weakness when try to reach for higher places. I’m not experiencing chronic pain or have difficulty sleeping as a result of the tear. I was scheduled to have the repair done but after further discovery that a retear is highly probable, I decided not to do so. What’s your opinion Doc? Thank you sir.

Any more info on biological shoulder resurfacing? I’m 34 had my pec tendon reattached in 2020 and after that the shoulder was screwed up. Had a labrum repair arthroscopic in 2021. And since then have persistent arthritis pain and a few bone spurs. I just push through it but maybe at some point it will get even more painful. I’m still able to shoulder press 90 lb dumbbells and bench 120s with good form. Anything you can do for me? Money not an issue. Thanks

@@user-kk7bg4md7vSo I got in contact with another doctor who also performs these kinds of procedures on the shoulder using allografts and he told me that the success rates are low. You sound like your arthritis is not yet as severe as needing this kind of treatment. There might be other options too.
