It's not like BJJ clubs across America had a collective experiment where they tried stuff like this and decided it didn't work. They aren't that slick. In reality 99% of them saw some cheesy Aikido, Tai Chi, or Classical Jiu Jitsu videos on youtube and wrote it off entirely.

you should never lie about reaching the distinction of purple belt. white belt is a journey - but blue belt is the largest journey where you learn depth in multiple positions which is developed through alot of instructionals, mileage, trial / error and pain. When someone wears a purple belt they are dangerous everywhere because of the mountain scaled at blue belt.

I think it's b/c he's rolling with her in a BJJ school and they're not "fighting/sparring" per se. If this were a real fight between a guy that size and a woman that size and this dude was swinging on her he would knock her the fuck out or worse. Maybe she'd have some advantage in protecting herself but not against 12" in height and 100lbs in weight. Imagine some random dude vs Mike Tyson in a fight that's never trained let alone even the most skilled female boxer. You can't bring a knife to a tank fight. Huge respect to BJJ and in no way is this an insult to how incredible and effective BJJ in self-defense/fighting/rolling/competing as an amazing art form.
