Hi, I received an email from your company me to check out your videos. Im 38 now and unfortunately have had to stop playing due to bad knees. Im from England close to London. I played county cricket for Berkshire, opening the batting from 12-17. Looking back at the so-called professional coaching I received was so poor. The point you made about being taught to play in the V is so true. Its to late for me now but Im hoping for the next generation of coaches to not feel the need to change what players feel comfortable and have had success with to the perfect representation of "textbook." I was in the end so fixated on being as close to textbook as possible, which really was overcomplicating and confusing. Thanks

Of course the lead shoulder will steer around to a ball that is wide of offstump, as that is the only way to get across to it and to play in line with the ball, but that doesn't address what Gary Palmer is saying about an open/slightly open stance leading to better access to the ball.

I play with steong bottom hand grip. Can play cover drive and all but cut shorts are difficult to make .. you have to be more wristy. Virat changes his grip based on what shot he is playing

Spin bowling Kohli, Kevin Pietersen and most players use the bottom hand but for fast bowling he's not.

Almost all batsmen get the bat up before they swing it down. Can you name a batsman who doesn't do it?

Good analysis. Ponting was a bit similar. I remember hearing that Phil Hughes' idiosyncrasies were being coached out of him and his batting suffered as a result. This was a few years prior to his very unfortunate accident (RIP)

Disagree with the comment about all good batsmen being able to transition smoothly in between different formats. The requirements of test cricket are so different from t20 that the definitions of success are vastly different. A good 30-40 consistently is very good performance in t20s. Not so in test cricket.

G'day Gio, im an Australian and totally agree and i saw your short video on Marnus Labuschagne the other day and i agree with that too, Marnus needs to keep things very simple and just react to the ball since he has such good fundamentals and he unweights the bat which is the most important thing, ive been unweighting the bat ever since season 2021/22 in aus thanks to your videos and my batting has been brilliant since and ive really enjoyed playing and batting. i would love more analysis videos, maybe analysis on why Marnus is so succesful (unweighting the bat). Whenever Marnus is batting and smith i love to watch cause i know they unweight the bat and are such good viewing when they are playing well

Now I am more n more assured that Virat Kohli will make a strong comeback when he will play games in future. (Mohammad Asif prophecy is wrong for so many reason,... he simply wants to say that Babar is better than Virat Kohli... but we know no player can manage to keep 50+ average in all 3 formats of the game for long time.. Kohli has done it so waiting for him to make a strong comeback)
