What a fun weekend! Texas highway speeds are wild. My one suggestion is to always try to use the Supercharger stall farthest to the right if you can, that way you reduce the chances that more than one stall gets blocked. Hope to see more road trip adventures!

Nice video you guys, I bought my 23 prem with just under 5k on it, I really like this car. I'm retired and this is the first time in forever that I haven't had a truck and it's also my 2nd ford, my first one was a 68 mustang that I bought for 800.00 when it was like 3 years old

Just bought one last week and already scared to go on long trips. Also it’s expensive at $ 0.64/kwh. $64 to go 200 miles.

The product description from Amazon says it’s “water resistant”, not “waterproof”. I’ve walked short distances in the rain and it’s been fine, but maybe take precautions to prevent tech damage. ☂️ 💻 Thanks for watching! 😊

Thank you for the review! I just got the sling bag/backpack as an add-on to my travel backpack, which is also from Lovevook. It‘s the perfect combination for weekend trips using public transport, in my opinion: The travel backpack can either go in the luggage rack or under the seat while the sling bag/backpack stays with me. I can wear it as a sling bag while travelling to my destination, and once I‘m there, I can use it as a backpack as I stroll around to visit museums and the like. It‘s one of very few sling bags I found that can fit an 11“ tablet, which is what I was looking for because I want to have the option to take it with me as I stroll around.

RWD is standard for this model. eAWD is optional, but I did not opt for it. I did, however, opt for the Extended Range 91 kWh battery.

Does the California route 1 and the GT have the largest battery of the lineup??
@GinsWhimsTravelChannel3 ай бұрын
Technically, the Mach-E Select and Premium models have the option of 72 kWh or 91 kWh. Everything else comes standard 91 kWh, but the Premium has the longest range 91kWh of about 300 miles. I get about 315 miles.

My thoughts exactly on political crap. Screw the people who think all of that. I’m a VET I’ll do what I want. I like the technology. Not going to the gas station and dropping $75 for a half tank (36 gallon). We have a ICE SUV for long trips.

Great Q&A on the Lightning. After 2 years I average 2.4 mi / kWh but in California that’s a bit easier with the weather and heavy commute traffic. The reason there is no eco mode is that the motors are permanent magnetic. They would need a clutch disconnect or an induction motor for an eco mode. Unfortunately there won’t be a way to make that better with an OTA. For Tesla Charging, the V2 are the older 150kw chargers and are not CCS. The V3 that we have access to, are 250kw and have to have been updated to support CCS and have a meter installed for billing so that’s why most but not all are open to us atm. The 24 models do have the heat pump btw. Keep em coming 👍

This is a great illustration of knuckleheads grossly overpaying for these EV vehicles. These EV vehicles are now losing value as quickly as these inadequate batteries are discharging. Can anyone imagine searching for a charging station and delaying your journey for an hour each stop and then praying to God that another charging station is within range and if so, are the stations available. Certainly no way to travel-no way to live. Again, these sheeple deserve all the frustration and devaluation derived from this vehicle-BAA BAA.

Great video, I've noticed from experience with my lightning that if I wanted to get closer to the 320 estimated range for just HWY driving alone I would have to drive 65MPH in ideal conditions, if I wanted to over exceed then I would have to drive 60MPH. Obviously I know people don't want to drive the speed limit or slower than the speed limit. But the faster you go, the more your range Dips. At 70MPH I range from 1.8 - 2.0 miles per KWH.

Thanks for the vid, Im wanting a extended range F150 and I current live in CC... I dont travel much, but Id like to travel to SA...that Three Rivers charger was the one I planned to use. Sadly, it seems traveling would be a bit rough unless you stop at that Beeville location to top it off. I think the Beeville charger isn't available 24/7 either. There is hope though, I read online they're gonna build another charging location between CC and SA. Hopefully, thatll be soon. Is yalls lightning an extended range? Im assuming it is. Is it worth getting, or, is there just not enough charging stations in TX yet?
@GinsWhimsTravelChannel5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yes, our lightning is the extended range one. It's only 166 miles from the Tesla Supercharger at La Palmera in CC to the Tesla Supercharger at The Rim in (north west) San Antonio. There are plenty more charging stations in SA too. You could make it, for sure in the extended range. I would charge to 100% in CC and top off when you get to SA.

Nice video guys! You covered some very important information. I really like how you set up your lightning. Nice wheels! White on black. That storm trooper look! Thanks for mentioning me. If you don’t mind subscribing and let’s stay in touch. I have been driving EVs since 2017. I started with a gen 1 used 2014 Chevy Volt then went to a gen 2 2016 Volt. Then I purchased my wife a used 2014 Model S performance with the free super charging for life. Then i purchased a 2018 rwd Tesla Model 3 for myself. I put a 100k miles in a year and a half. I now have a very efficient 2023 Chevy Bolt 2LT. I have saved 1000s over the years. Keep up the good work !

If you see “150 kW” at a Tesla charger, it’s a v2 station. Only v3 stations are compatible and they’ll be listed as 250kW.

Tesla stations need to be the 250Kw+ super chargers for non Teslas. Honestly would be nice just to open all of them up. Imagine going to a gas station and it saying it only works for the Chevy brand.
