@@gselectronicprojects nichrome wire is also found in ceramic resistor, also those thave bit better heat distribution, due to its ceramic body itself, tho know its wattage, this thingy can be clever situations where you need high current regulation, hardly to see the good stuff, but without the unprofessionalism (mostly when people attempts to make a diy amplifier out of plain and random parts, and then they just apply the bare minimum voltage so their stuff doesnt blow up on the video).

i agree with you but if you temperature cool maintain of 3055 it works well and not blow up

@@gselectronicprojects exactly, one problem may be that when you have your regulator, which outputs exactly 12volts, and when you put a BJT on it it gonna drop 0.5-6 volt on it and you gonna have arround 11.5 volts which can be a problem in some situations.

Use an LM317K TO:3 as shown or better yet, LM338 for current output up to 5 Amps DC. But using a linear pot, 20 turn much more precise output voltage control.
