OMG Just get a Clore ES5000. No meters, no ON/OFF switch to go bad, NO boost button to go bad no frills. They last 10 years plus can replace the batter, heavier duty clamps and longer than NOCO. Just better in every way but size and weight. 20 pounds vs 7 pounds for NOCO 150. Oh 1/2 the price of Noco too. The reason you never see noco compared because they are not better and cost 2x more. ANd they wont last 10 years and you cant replace the battery. Oh bonus is no Lithium fire hazard with the CLORE ES5000 either

I bought an SP Tools generator with an engine labelled as 7 HP. This generator struggled to produce its rated electrical output power (3300 watts). i checked the engine model number and discovered it was Chinese-made Loncin unit rated at 5.8 HP by the Loncin factory. The unit vibrates excessively, causing erratic operation above about 70% of its rated output. In other words I got screwed.

Where and when did you buy this?
@keithammleter3824
@keithammleter3824 10 ай бұрын
@@SPTOOLSUSA In Australia, about 20 months ago. About 10 years ago I bought another generator from Bunnings (a nationwide hardware retail chain) a Chinese-made generator with an identical Honda copy engine. That generator was labelled as 2500 VA. (2500 VA at 0.8 PF is 2000 watts). On test it remained in governor control with a load of 2270 watts. Note that generators sold in Australia are adjusted to 50 Hz (3000 RPM), but in China and the USA you have 60 Hz (3600 RPM), so the same engine in USA can produce a bit more power. However, the Australian importer should know this, and label the engine 5.5 HP, not 7 HP. For USA this unit (SPG4000) should be labelled 5.8 HP. Excessive vibration in my SP Tools generator causes engine speed wander and the low oil sensor to operate intermittently on loads above about 70% of rating, even though the oil is at the upper limit level. This causes misfiring and popping. I tested both generators with bar heaters and halogen lights of different ratings such that I was able to test with resistive loads in steps of 50-70 watts.

My GB150 cranked my 6.5 Detroit with higher compression than that duramax, on completely dead batteries. Batteries so dead that the door locks wouldn’t even click. If I cranked right away, it cranked on the slower side, but if I let it sit on the batteries for a little bit, then cranked, it cranked over pretty well. Then again, I also hooked it up to the battery that had the cable that went right to the starter. So I don’t know what you’re doing wrong there, but the GB150 worked just fine for me. Maybe because the Duramax has more electronics to power up? Not sure. But the higher compression of the 6.5 should compensate for that extra load there…

I just bought my first nutsert tool, but is a bit confusing as I didn't think there should be a instant "SNAP", just a stop when the nutsert is drawn tight to the metal plate...? If I'm doing it wrong, let me know so I can fix it, but these first dozen or so nutserts I installed are working as expected.

I don't get it either, why doesn't the noco test show at least 12v? I like the SP showing 13+ volt. Will make the starter turn faster. Edit : I didn't notice at first, but the channel sells the SP brand. I'm pretty sure they sabotaged the noco jump packs. No other reason they should show less than 12v when idle.

I agree, Why when the Noco 70 or 150 only showed 9v approx they output over 12v at least mine does and the fact he pressed the Boost button when the lights where chasing has me suspecting he isn't the best prepared to test them.

NOCO is extremely dishonest about their amp ratings..youtubers have tajen them apart and seen the tiny battery inside and also tested current with a clamp meter which is greatly exaggerated e.g GB40 which is supposed to be 1000A only puts out ~200A when shorted for a sec or 2.The GB40 had 2ah 120c battery and GB150 has 8ah 120c battery so only capable of 960A not 4000A.

Rigged, I have a bunch of fedex trucks that we have to jump start often. We have used multiple jump packs including the noco 155 and the sp61073 Hd diesel jumper so I can tell you I’ve started our cascadia with the Noco155 with the sp61073 only clicking.

Starter on the truck is designed for 12 volts. If you hook up a fully charged 10 volt battery it still won’t crank. The starter needs both amperage and voltage.

So when you are testing voltage, you hook up negative to the source and positive to the circuit/load. But with voltage drop it’s vice-versa? Positive on source and negative in circuit/load?
