You need to place the heater more in the water as it suppose to be fully submerged,as it can overheat or even explode,it the glass is exposed to air.

Thanks! I actually just used a hot glue gun, however after I moved to a new house my rock ended up coming apart so it’s actually just sitting on there now

Nice I started mine about 2 weeks ago, I scraped the lines off the top of the rim, also picked up a red sea 260.
@alsfishtails
@alsfishtails Жыл бұрын
Right on! I think it would look better without the lines but at this point it’s okay it kind of helps me see how much my water has evaporated which isn’t ever much… how do you like the Red Sea?

The biggest issue why i left that light is because of the heat. I liked my tank staying a consistent 77. With that lid i was always at 82, and at night it would drop a few degrees. Consistency is key with this hobby, it helps out so much.

Looks nice! Another awesome upgrade you might consider is an auto top off. This tank evaporates pretty quickly. I thought with the higher humidity of where I live it would help with that, but nope. I had to add RODI everyday and with coral in the tank now, I can't afford the salinity swings. I have a little nano ATO with a 2.5g jug and it's so nice not having to constantly top it off!

I actually never lose water, a first for all of my tanks! I thought I talked about an ATO at some point in here, maybe not, but anyway as of right now I don’t seem to lose any water and if so it’s not noticeable. Been stocked and doing well I need to make a part 3!

I just set up this exact tank about a month ago too! Absolutely loving it so far. I've done a few upgrades, however. I replaced the media basket sponge that comes with it with an acrylic media basket and then bought the fluval skimmer that was designed to fit in this tank. I'm not using it yet though because the bioload on my tank is super low right now. I think my only complaint is the light puts out enough heat that it pushes my temp into the 80s and I've actually unplugged my heater entirely because of it. I also recently bought a better pump to upgrade the stock pump, a Vivosun 210. I was originally going to go with the Sicce that's a popular upgrade option, but the Vivosun is like 15$ on Amazon right now and I've heard just as many good things about it. For that amount of money, it's worth a try!

So funny you say that I literally just got the same pump, let me know how it works for you because I may replace it in the tank. I actually bought it to mix my salt with but I may just swap them and use the factory pump to mix and put that baby in the tank
