He sank some huge putts at the beginning of the round. There was no way that he was going to keep pouring them in all day. His putting and his short iron game when under the gun have been his weakness over the last 10 years in majors.

Running away as he did, did no favours to his fanbase or golf, but perhaps even moreso to himself. Shirking away like that sends a strong signal that winning is more important than sportsmanship and common decency. If he'd stood tall, walked out with a smile and congratulated the winner, he would have stood tall in the eyes of the golfing world, and also to himself. Probably going to be 100x harder to return to form now, IMHO.

'Show compassion', 'be nice', do this do that. Why do these over-privileged pros think they can tell us what to think, say and do. Rory blew it again and stormed off without grace or good sportsmanship - that is the bottom line. Thanks for the advice.

Golfers need to keep things in perspective when stuff like this happens. What happened to Rory is hardly heartbreak. He's a hundred millionaire riding around in jets, spending every minute of his life on nice manicured grass, million dollar properties, country clubs, infinity pools. I get it, he wanted to win and had a tough loss, but these guys need to remember it's hard for regular folks to consider it "heartbreak" when you have the kinds of lives these guys have. I don't know anyone who wouldn't trade places with a tour pro, especially Rory. I seriously do feel for him; I think one of the biggest ways to cope with something like that is to stay grateful for the life that you have and keep things in perspective. You could be laying roof tiles in 100 degree heat barely getting by financially with a mortgage you can barely afford, or maybe even just rent in a shitty apartment. When a loss in a high profile golf tournament feels heartbreaking, try to remember how good you have it.

I was playing golf during the final round. At the turn I ran into the clubhouse and the bartender says, "Rory is 2 up". My reaction was, 'He'll choke. He always does." - that's his golfer image...and he just cemented it.

I beg to differ he's a pro and should be that even when a tough loss comes...he literally ran away...yes he's paid very well to answer a couple questions post match. The LIV backstory with McIlroy makes it all the sweeter for Bryson. Rory disparaged a number of great LIV players a few years back. Being a true professional, Bryson will never mention that aspect of his amazing, well earned Triumph. It was a very entertaining watch. This is what we have been missing since LIV and the spoiled PGA decision makers agreed not to disagree.

Little bryson is an ambassador to one of the worst regimes in history. They treat women (and many other groups) as property to be owned and disposed of at will. They kill people publicly who don't agree with them and would do the same to little bry the moment he steps out of line. Wonder how his wife and mother feel about being viewed as sub-human by the people who bought bryson 🤔

Possibly the only thing he’s done wrong here is to make that (non) statement. 3 weeks off to get his head and game straight sounds normal to me. Let’s not forget he came second in a major championship, something I’m sure Scotty would’ve been more than happy with last week. Rory will be back for sure, hopefully stronger, focused and ready to increase his major tally 👍🏻
