Food for thought that at $750 buy-in for a bike that's worth twice that gives you a lotta money you can "dump" without going under water, IMHO. BTW, you should think about naming your bike "Chameleon" given all the color changes! LOL Welcome back and don't be a stranger!

Great video. I just.upon sold my ‘96 Savage. I’m 85 years old and didn’t want to push my luck anymore.I’ve been riding forever and have never had an accident but if I had one at my age it would take me forever to heal up so as much as I miss the bike, I’m playing it safe. The bike is great and I enjoyed as much or more than any of my others ( I’ve had 8) . You’re not going to beat any Hyabusas but you are going to enjoy the machine and if I were younger I wouldn’t hesitate a second to buy another one.

I have been riding a LS650 for 5 years. The factory specs are. 31 hp 37 lb torch and 6400 rpm's (top rpm's). 16 second 1/4 mile. Factory maximum rpms 88 mph at 100% stock, and that is slowest bike I've ever owned. In this guys video he short shifted 1st. then slipped the clutch a little. It should go a little faster but not 3.5 seconds about 6 seconds. If the rider weighs 135lb and an other rider weighs 260 well there you have the difference and the air is thinner early in the morning so you'll get the best times at 6am and slower times at 5 pm. BUT NEVER EVER 3.5 seconds to 60 mph. rofl. Be happy with what you got and stop lying. It's good value for the money.I payed 2k US in 2018, rode it almost everyday, And I have kept track of everything gas, repairs, and all and it costs me 6.5 cents a mile to ride this fun bike that does everything well and will never win a race.

I converted my '07, which I bought new to chain drive and cut the belt guard down behind the shock. It looks factory. I used sprockets from a Suzuki GS550 with the cast wheels. So there numerous ratios available. I changed the sprockets 3 times before I found what I liked best. The Suzuki shop got a shock when I took it in for a tire change. 😂 If I remember right, I'm at about a 10% change. It's hard to beat the fuel mileage on these bikes.

@DRILL-SGT.HARTMAN

@@spikemcnock8310 It's been a long time, I'll have to look and get back with you. But you have to consider what your weight is and are you riding 2 up. My daughter would ride with me sometimes and the first gear setup was too long legged. I weigh 190 lbs and my daughter on there we were pushing nearly 300 lbs. Are you riding up a lot of hills or in the mountains? If you don't weigh too much and ride a lot of interstate mostly or open flat areas it's great. I found the second set up I did to be the best all around. After calculations I found it was almost exactly between stock and the first chain drive set up I did. I will give you both, you'll have to decide what you think is best. And no, I didn't have issues with the chain rubbing the swing arm. I converted mine 8 or 9 years ago.

Questions.. I have a suzuki blvd 2009 s40 650cc carbureted. Im not mechanically inclined, but trying. Had a new carb installed and idles a bit high… also fouled the last plug. Had a new plug installed and want to adjust the carb so I don’t foul this one as well. I’d like to to this myself…is this somehting I can safely do myself and if so what tools are needed? Thabk you for any help. I really want to ride my bike without messing it up again.
@DRILL-SGT.HARTMAN
@DRILL-SGT.HARTMAN 11 ай бұрын
I didn't post this video, but idling the bike down is simple, if it's the factory carb. There's a screw on the left side of the carb that adjusts the idle, it has a spring behind it. Which you can clearly see. But what is fouling the plugs, it has to be oil consumption. Or an overly rich running carb. If it's the carb, then it sounds like something is seriously wrong with that new carb. Because I've been tinkering with mine for years, I have a jar full of primary and main jets. I tried all sorts of combo's before I settled on what I have now. And never fouled a plug. If you're not very mechanical minded, I wouldn't suggest tearing into a carburetor. But I can help you possibly.
@Jmacfann

These bikes should not idle like a 90 v twin (ie a harley which a lot of people run these with WAY to low of an idle which is not good for the oil pump) These bikes should have an idle rpm once warmed up of 1100 which to a lot of people sounds high.

Hello! I don’t have the same tacho, but I do have a Suzuki savage that I’m currently trying to wire up a different tacho to, from Dime City Cycles. Same wire setup but here is my question - should your tacho get power and have the backlight on WITHOUT your bike running, and just having the ignition in the “on” position? I haven’t put my tank on yet and I have my tacho wired up, but I’m not getting any backlight. Just wondering if it should be illuminated with just power from the battery and the bike not running, or if it needs to be running for it to be on. Thank you! - Evan
