I understand that cats need animal protein, but I don't understand why plants would be bad for them for 2 reasons. First, cat grass is supposedly good for cats. Is this not true? 2nd, we had a cat from birth to death by natural causes. Catzilla much preferred veggies to meats. She ate normal cat food, but, if given the choice between pretty much any vegetable & meat, the meat was ignored. She would ravenously gobble broccoli, etc., from the time she was a tiny kitten. But, leave chicken or turkey out on the counter & she wouldn't touch it. Why did she never have intestinal issues?

Really good video. We are struggling with pancreatitis(??? we think... cytology of the pancreas was corrupt with blood). It's been a month and we still have to force the feeding. They told us that we can just feed her Hill's Prescription Diet i/d Digestive Care Low Fat, which seems crazy. That' s the only option? Obviously she hates it and I'm pretty sure the association with traumatic feeding isn't helping. There is no way she is going to eat it by herself... One of the most frustrating things about pancreatitis is the lack of knowledge in the veterinarian world that seem to use really all concepts of feeding and nutrition. Other really frustrating thing is that you come to the internet for some clarity and gets even worse... you can watch videos about vets indicating one thing and the absolute contrary. It is really confusing and frustrating. It becomes a question of pure faith which is absolutely bonkers. Anyway, thanks a lot for throwing some clarity.

My Staffy came from a bad environment. And struggled to eat. So she ate anything. When I received her. I didn't have the right food. And she ate oats and ruce eith sardines. This is the first video I have watched that talks about inflammation and proper species specific food, aka, raw meat. No one seems to click that 100 years ago dogs and cats didn't have metabolic chronic ailments but today they do. No one thinks "maybe it's the carb rich commercial food"

Great idea, as a vet I’ve seen the most rare vitamin and mineral deficiencies and bacterial infections like tuberculosis and Listeria. Please continue giving dogs and cats raw meat byproducts from several sources. The nice upswing in allergies is just a bonus at this point. Not to mention the bigger breed dogs that get raw food with bones and get constipated with blocks of calcium rather than poop.

I wouldn’t take any notice of advice from the vet about diet if it doesn’t make sense to me raw is the optimal diet for dogs and cats
