Unfortunately, this deforestation issue is getting larger in 2022! 😥

Deforestation is when it doesn’t go back to forests like if they converted it to pasture. They replant the trees

Great job. I am in the Pacific Northwest, in Washington State. And side-on logging sides for one of the biggest lumber companies in the world. The only thing that myself and the other great logging companies do here, is when our skidded are yarning timber to the landing for the processor's, is I have them do a short and long yards so there is always timber in the landing for the processor to keep working pretty much no stop, waiting for logs to come in. It's a very easy process,, I just have the skidded start as usual, next to the landing, but as the yard gets longer, the skidded will set up their haul so they grab a short pull, then go out and grab a turn that is longer, and that way the processor is never waiting for timber to process. And this company does a wonderful neat and clean job, and the only thing I do different is how timber is yarded to the landing.

I used these guys in Dec. 2021 for an 80 acre pine wood clear cut. They did marvelous work with absolutely no waste left behind. Great job guys.

Looks very efficient. I just wish every 4th or 5th tree could be left standing so that when the next harvest generation takes place, trees of twice the age would be part of the future harvest. If that had been done years ago, then 25% of this harvest would be much larger older logs.

I'm gonna assume it's not like mountain hill logging because if so we'll.....compared to logging here in the Pacific Northwest (Washington and Oregon) that is like a kiddie play ground, here we got tracked feller bunches that are kept from falling off of like 45 degree plus hill sides and men usually sent to cut trees by hand and are pulled up with drag line, y'all's playing compared to here, hey cool video, neat seeing what kinda equipment is used down south!!!! (Hope you didn't take this comment as me critizing y'all's, I'm just shocked at how rough our terian and logging is compare to y'all's

An amazing clean and tidy work site. Do you remove the stumps too. What happens to the chips, is there a market for them.
@gregbraddy14974 жыл бұрын
The chips are fuel wood and are used by paper mills.

Nicely 'thinned' cant of trees allowing for maximum growth of ones being felled. I presume it was going to be replanted. Would have been nicer to see a lot more on the ground, - great video nevertheless.

@ajmccg Agreed, I think I would call that more like 'slope logging'.

great video and nice machines just wondering what is the advantage to having the cab on the right side on a wood loader? I'm so used to the left side cabs on hoes I feel like it would take some time to get used to

@jamescarter15006 жыл бұрын
lacrouge1 different machines are set up differently! If you look at the processor the cab is on the right side! I've ran them both ways. As you already know you can just see better swinging the machine cab side first. Same same
