This nutrients line is very old it was made to copy THE 90's nutes Advanced hydroponics of Holland the Dutch formula 3 parts that every growers use to have back then...there was "secret" schedule on old forums...and it still works great even if they add few products to their line! But synthetic isn't for me anymore I prefer living soil as I don't grow commercially and just for myself it's just logical!

the problem with counting on stuff like this is that you don't actually learn about soil, microbes, ferments, mites or any other beneficials that naturally create health in nature. Using salts to grow plants actually harms the planet...

I just germinated a lettuce seed in a Kratky setup, essentially following the steps from the original Kratky file. I have a sprout maybe 3/4" tall with the two sugar leaves and am using natural light from a large window as the light source, would you recommend that I get a small grow light for it? From what I understand lettuce is one of the easiest plants to grow but I'm not sure how little tlc I can get away with here
@LockedInWithLovebirds17 сағат бұрын
First time I used it I added cal mag to it. That was my mistake, this already has it. Sends the ppm way up. I had to water it down to get the 3 bottles in at a reasonable ppm. But once I did it without, these are like liquid magic.

Its my first ebb and flow grow so im sucking up all the knowledge I can, so your videos have been helpful. Ive always grown in dirt or coco, which is pretty hard to screw up. Where as hydro is its own animal, but once you get it, it virtually takes care of itself.

Hi there, I'm wanting to go to some sort of indoor garden. I have a large south facing window that gets a lot of sun in winter. I have a plumbing business with easy access to material so I'll build it myself. My question is do you have a favorite design for indoors? Thx Pete
@humblegrowth16 сағат бұрын
It really depends on what you want to grow Pete. Tower gardens are a great overall garden but DWC or KRATKY gardens may be more cost effective and better for large plants. If you want to take a deep dive into indoor gardening I have a course called The School Of Hydroponics that would give you all the info you need to build, light, and maintain all different types of hydroponic gardens. -Cheers! www.hg-hydroponics.com/hydroponicssalespage

I know this vid is about aeroponics, but in talking about the chunks of water, I was wondering about a fogponics fogger, when used without the hat cover that some of them have, it shoots up a bunch of water. Is it better to allow that water to shoot up to where the plants are, or is it best to just put the plastic hat on top of the fogger and just let the fog and humidity reach the roots?
@humblegrowth16 сағат бұрын
It is actually better to keep the "hat" on. Not necessarily because of the water that shoots up, but because the temperature of the water that evacuates the ultrasonic vibrations is considerably warmer than the water around it. It is better to allow it to defuse in the water around it to prevent root rot.

Great video. I am building a quite large bioreactor system to tissue culture advanced genetic trees for restoration purposes. I have 10 shelves, each shelf is around 5.5 feet long. I have about 3" of clearance between top of bioreactor and bottom of shelf above. I want to custom make my LED strips and have been feeling overwhelmed. I need between 100-300 µmol/m²/s. I want to be able to automate lights and determine the optimum "schedule" or protocol to maximize whatever stage im in; rooting, elongation, multiplication. I downloaded your book and will read that. Lighting randomly has overwhelmed more than other components of this build because there are almost too many options. THanks

Is the water collected in the rez of a dehumidifier distilled water especially if u live in a humid area
@335alien335Күн бұрын
I don't use mine. I get about a gallon a day and dump it into the toilet and then flush it. If I don't flush it, I end up with a blue ring at the water line in the toilet. The blue ring is an indication that there is copper in the water, and that comes from the copper piping in the dehumidifier. Another thing to consider is that the dehumidifier is collecting dust and mold spores out of the air that will end up in the water. I initially thought that by dumping it in the toilet, it would prevent the formation of scale at the water line and make toilet cleaning easier. It didn't work out that way.

I tried and it is the right move. The air area is of great importance. As with all kinds of aeroponic, Grow Tower etc ... Very early, when a root thread was developed, I let go of a little water so the air room became larger and these roots that should breathe rather than be submerged in water. English is not my mother language but you definitely understand what I mean.

nutrient availability with ph varies on what media youre using doesnt it? I feel like the chart at 1:30 isnt accurate for hydroponics
@humblegrowth2 күн бұрын
Thank you so much I really appreciate this comment. The ph chart didn't matter to me so much because I was more trying to illustrate what nutrients are available at certain ph levels. That doesn't change in hydro or soil. The same nutrients will be available at the same ph levels, a hydroponic garden just has no "Basic buffer" that soil adds to a garden so your hydro garden will thrive at 6.0 rather than 7.0 like soil. But the nutrients ph. requirements are the same no matter which scale you look at. Here is a ph list for hydroponics images.app.goo.gl/mYnesWsM69feNvUn7 and here is the one that I used images.app.goo.gl/RShpkaLJB4HuZSb47 you can see that nothing actually changed about what ph the nutrients need to be absorbed. Interesting right?!

I don't want to say Mars Hydro lies about their reviews but anyone shopping there will notice every single item they sell all have 5-star ratings. They have an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau and basically no customer service at all. Caveat Emptor. If you buy from mars hydro and you have a problem with it you're f'cked. If you read the negative mars hydro reviews all them people ain't lying to ya. Spend your hard earned money on a company with a real customer service department like Spider Farmer.

I found it best to purchase a R/O system designed for my hydroponic gardening. We live in a very dry desert and our evaporative water loss is significant, so the system really does a great job. The “waste” water is fine for our citrus trees that receive an occasional rain borne “washout”, so nothing is wasted. I bought my hydroponic R/O from Amazon for about $250…..endless supply of clean, mineral/contaminant free water.

I can see why ro is more sustainable than distilled and it's easy to go to those refill stations. However RO generation creates toxic water water. Why would a simple carbon filter or 9 stage filter not be a more sustainable approach? I know it's not going to produce as clean and close to 0 water but what kind of chemicals tend to get past those filters that cause plant issues?
@billybudz4 күн бұрын
If your plants look like these thumbnails no amount of fertilizer is going to bring them back! The genetic damage is permanent!!!Time to rethink the process! There’s a reason why deficiency symptoms, hydroponics and synthetic fertilization methods, share the same video content space. Attempting to outsmart natural plant immune systems with your science is something to do at best. And very few are successful. Earthboxes crush with super soil and water only if you’re new and frustrated. 💯✌️🦚

@humblegrowth4 күн бұрын
I am realizing that rain water is a tricky lil guy. It seems to change EC and pH. almost everyday, I am having a hard time properly analyzing it to determine how to best tackle using it. I use it for 80% of my gardens because the EC is very low, this makes it easy to work with and maintain. I'll get back to you with more details...

What do you think about fish water
@humblegrowth4 күн бұрын
Fish water is great as long as you know what is in it. The biggest problem with Aquaponics is the requirement of nutrient supplements to fill everything out if you want to grow more than just lettuce. Also fish dying from disease then contaminating the entire tank can be a real B#$% too. Just from my person experience.

I moved from tds to ec, because we got this multiplier 0.5, 0.6 and 0.7 or something for europe, asia and america. Depending on fertilizer brand, it could cause too high salt concentration in soil and so on. EC seems universal to me.

Dood just accidentally grew a beast for his first run 😂😂 nice work brotha 🔥 Next time to avoid the plant growing so tall, you can choose a more indica dominant strain, but if sativa is your thing, try low stress training and scrogging. Other things that can cause stretching are high temperatures and the light being too far from the top of the canopy. Humidity plays a huge part in bud rot and pm, using a dehumidifier helps a lot, about 60-70% in veg and 45-55% during flower 🤙🏼
