When running the clutch adaptive learning it gets to the shift drum adaptive learning but just runs too 100% and loops back to 50%, never gets to the run engine notification. Any idea?

Great video, really helped me out. My 2012 F150 was failing so I tackled this project over the weekend. 163K miles. Couple tips for others. The OEM lead frame was available from my local dealer but stock is limited. They wanted my VIN to order another one from Ford. No reprogramming required. All the online stores don't have them available. The bulkhead adapter was stuck, I pulled it out with a pliers, so make sure you get a new one. Took about 9 quarts to refill. Took about 4 or 5 hours but I was really taking my time with torque sequence and letting everything drain good.

Was able to change engines in a 2012 fiesta thanks to video. Saved grandson lots.

2016 focus with a 2014 trans, using the tcm from the 2016 with the speed sensors shims from the old 2016 trans as well. car will drive and shift but shifts extremely hard into every gear. code p073f if you punch it from a dead stop it’ll go until about 5k rpm and fall on its face and slowly find 2nd gear and keep going. code has only popped up one time. any clues?

I haven’t checked the alternator yet, but it was on the list, but the other thing I forgot to mention that I’ve noticed is that my other focus, same year and model makes clicking noises and the lights turn on then go off when I put the battery terminals on to the post initially, but notice this one doesn’t do that, just does nothing and makes no noises, any further insight what that may be or if it may correlate to my problem

Man ive been binging on youre videos for about 14 hours now lol, ive learned so much sbout ford focus transmissions & this video is leading me to a solution to my problem...i hope, but the issue is randonly my gears started slipping, im only able to get up to gear 3 , i think or maybe im just hesitant to floor it. But allso at red lights, the car stalls & dosent go anywhere when i press the gas. It stalls for a good 10 seconds then slowly engages again ...then its back to jerking & bucking. Without any codes. I hope you see this & i appreciate you for dropping these jewles

Just replaced the clutch and the forks, was going through the relearning process for the tcm, but after the procedure I got an error code and the car is stuck in reverse, even though the gear selector is in park. I don’t know if I did something wrong or not?

Had replaced a dead battery in my 2016 focus and now i have no reverse as well as no gear higher than second, would a the TCM adaptive learn be a good starting point for troubleshooting? i've tried several transmission reset guides off youtube and my next move is cleaning out the actuators, any advice would be appreciated!

my wife has a 2012 ford focus, and transmission just started acting up and no reverse at all now. when you take off it jerks from 1st to 2nd and just not going over 45mph, I put my Fixd scan on it, and this is the 3 trans codes that comes up. P287A, P090D, and P087A. Also some other codes that are, J1850 But engine code is U1007, and B10D7 Pats key, and U0300, P144A. But right now Im more want to know if you might know the problem with transmission, does she need another one, as a used one is expensive. We Just don't know what to do now. Any help from you would be great. Thank you.

Just wanted to say you explained this so perfectly and you guided me through what I thought was going to be difficult. With your help I saved my family 1k$, possibly more if it had failed at 75mph. Have a ford focus built in august 2016 with a bad tcm. They say it’s the newer one and it’s not covered. SMH

By the way, this procedure does not work on 2020 or newer Transit with 10 speed transmission because the transmission pump will not allow the the pan to slide aft or side to side. Somehow, I was was able to replace the filter without having to remove the pan away completely. It's not easy as your 6 speed trans transit.

Hey there buddy, On my 2013 focus se I got a no crank situation unless I put the transmission into the transmission learn by putting it in neutral. Battery light comes on after sitting at idle for a minute, and also not going into drive or reverse, just seems like neutral in all gears. The backup camera goes upside down occasionally, stays on in other gears other than R, and sometimes the lines aren’t showing. Do you know if this this 50a mega fuse you replaced can cause these sort of symptoms? The guy I got the car from couldn’t even get it to start but I managed that much. He changed the starter before I bought it because he thought that may be the problem. But I think it was the unknown underlying problem that made him think it was the starter causing a no crank no start situation all along

I brought my 2013 focus into a ford dealership due to reoccurring p07a5 and p287a codes, to which they replaced the tcm under recall and made the car completely undrivable. The car was drivable prior to bringing it in as i would unstick the bottom actuator every week or so and it would drive through gears until it would stick again. However, immediately after they gave the car back i got a transmission hot alert and a transmission fault service now notice. Kinda crazy that they are good with doing that, I would’ve respected it if they said they didn’t want to or couldn’t service it rather than actually brick the car and tell me on the phone that the car is fixed prior to picking it up. The car also only had 2 more miles on it than when I dropped it off

Oh my god I had this car. It was scary as f-. My version of the issue was violent. I was also simultaneously dealing with power steering control module outages too. Now that's a fun one. I think I took this car in 3 times for the transmission. The first two times I think were just reflashes then the 3rd was a TCM and maybe there was another time concerning some valve in the transmission. But when the transmission would go out? It would suddenly downshift into like second gear, no matter how fast you were going, but if you still had the throttle pushed in where it last was? Would then surge and take off, and then down shift on you again to second. So it was like, "Wiiiiiiiiiiing! Vrooom! Wiiiiiiiiing Vrooom! Wiiiiiiiiing, Vrooom!" practically giving you whiplash and making everyone behind you honk while you scrambled for the hazard lights. Think of someone in a parking lot learning how to shift a manual. That's basically what it was doing out on the highway. I'm so blessed I didn't get rear ended shifting to second in a f'ng 65 lol or even in a 45 for that matter.

Thank you again for another great video! Hope you’re feeling better by now. I started getting p073f after replacing clutch and forks and new tcm from ford. Car shifts great with all gears for a few weeks then has trouble finding first gear, then back to all good. Feel like it’s mechanically good, but will check the hot swap of actuator A as you suggest. Odd thing is car lunges in park after starting likes it’s trying to engage first gear. Only rolls an inch or two forward then rocks back and forth.
