Hello Dorcas. I have a question from my friend who is from Zimbabwe. She wants to know how you can live in the Philippines after graduating. What kind of visa is needed? Or are you on a work visa now? Thank you.
@KeishonAban6 күн бұрын
There are 2 main visas you can get after graduation according to the Bureau of immigration. 1. 9F Extension - Student visa extension. This entails you enrolling into the next level degree. For example, if you completed your BSc in the Philippines, you will need to enroll into a Master degree at any university in the Philippines. I highly recommend this visa, despite it does not allow you to work a regular job but you can work remotely (virtual assistant, Upwork, ESL) that is not based in the Philippines while you do your master degree. I also recommend doing your master degree at State universities that are not in the big cities like Benguet State University in Benguet, which is the university I am doing my PhD cuz it's cheaper like USD 200-400 per semester inclusive of miscellaneous Fees and the classes are either Nightly during the week or Saturdays only. 2. 9G Employment Visa - if you have a skill set for example, you can speak French or Spanish, you can apply to one of the call centers that handles customers in these languages which are mostly in Manila. They follow a different set of rules to the regular English speaking call centers. Some say those call centers where you speak French are less stressful and not as demanding as the regular call centers. Once they hire you, they will assist you in getting the 9G Employment Visa which will allow you to work. If you are planning to venture into the foreign language speaking call center, I highly recommend you connect with the African community on fb that works in that industry. They will be able to guide you properly. 3. The next option is the TRV or Temporary Resident Visa, in order to get this visa, you will need to be married to a Filipino. The downside is, you will still need to get an authorization to work from immigration when you get a job.

So nice that you all were able to celebrate Nigerian Independence Day together in Cebu. Lots of great interviews from very well spoken people that all shared hope for Nigeria's future. Cebu I think is welcoming to many foreigners like myself as an American. Great fashion and beautiful smiles. Especially you, Dorcus! Enjoy!

Of course they are - look at their basketbal volleyball players - they are from africa including Nigeria - never Filipinos discriminate or distinguish any other race as different - this is since the time of the Spaniards who treated natives as Indios which is you know not acceptable nowadays - actually I know a lot of Filipinos who see Nigerians as handsome or pretty - you see a lot of Filipinas whose bf are Nigerians - a lot of them etc. -

I mean, why they would compare Philippines to Nigeria in the first place?? There is no way Nigeria can be compared to Philippines.. Philippines is way way way better than Nigeria economically and the way of life...Nigerians are ridiculous
