Now there is a band who really meant it. Marvelous. If you get a chance, read Lee’s biography by Zoe Howe,Rock ‘n’ Roll Gentleman. Tremendous book giving real, insight in to the rise and lifestyle of the band, with input from the Wilko,Big Figure and Sparko.

Back in the 70s I didn’t know this was blues. I didn’t know this was punk, or rock n roll. I just knew that I loved it.

Beluister nog altijd Ring Ring ….. van Ferre. De man had ontegenzeggelijk grote kwaliteiten. Prettige muziek. Jammer dat hij zo jong overleden is. Hij was van mijn bouwjaar 1939.

So much energy there! Concerts in France aren't as well advertised as elsewhere. I found out too late they were playing in Monpazier in August 2008. That's about a fifteen minute drive from us. Then, in 2011, I never heard they were playing in Bergerac. About forty minutes from us. I never got to see them when I lived in Southend either! We know now to search on-line well in advance of the Summer months to find concerts that aren't well advertised anywhere. Dr Feelgood played a lot of concerts in France over the years.

That was Dr.Feelgood was and one and only Lee Brilleaux on vocal. Now a days a ”new” vocalist Robert Kane is only shadow of this front man.

Brilliant. Lucky to have seen Wilko play here in Belfast twice...and met him in the street once....also privileged to have seen Lee play with the latest version of Dr. Feelgood in the Mandela Hall in Belfast in the late 80s. Great musical memories.
