Was this originally done by the Carpenters, or was it on a kid's show? I remember listening to it when I was a kid and singing it at school (preschool/kindergarten).

Originally was sung on Sesame Street, and was written by one of the show's music writer's, Joe Raposo. The Carpenters' version was a cover, but it became the biggest pop hit for versions of this song. Hope this helps!
