Vident is not value for money. Maybe it worked for a VY-VZ, but is rubbish for older Commodores. I have a VS and a WH, and it it doesn't connect to some modules, or returns garbage data.

@user-el8ef6nm6b I got my key on ebay. I had the same problem you have got but in a holden cruze. Just go around the engine bay and just check for cracks. Another idea is to spray wd or brake cleaner around the inlet manifold gaskets you may have a leak there. If you spray and the engine revs change you have found the leak.

You keep doing helpful videos. They are helpful for the exact reason you outlined. You film as best you can, the whole job. It’s exactly what someone would experience. Nothing more annoying than when people do bullshit how to videos pretending they know what to do and it’s actually them doing it for the first time. You don’t pretend you are doing anything more than you having a crack at the job. You’re up front about everything Really good content.

@mwoods2062
@mwoods2062 Ай бұрын
If you are talking about wrapping the belt around to undo the harmonic balancer bolt I just put it over the balancer then wrap the whole belt around the balancer again and then up to the alternator. Remember if you are trying to undo the bolt the balancer will spin anticlockwise so wrap the belt around clockwise

I'm really sorry your having trouble but basically I use the belt to stop the balancer from spinning. So if you are undoing the bolt the balancer will spin anticlockwise. You have to wrap the belt around the balancer in a clockwise direction and then hook the belt onto one of the other pulleys.

After watching till about when you pulled the pump i just had to comment. You need to edit out all the crap and just show the bare minimum. This could have easily been a 5-10min resource, but its a real shambles. I dont care about why its subtitled or what your about to do. Just show me how and for the love of youtube get the camera on the actual fuel pump, not behind your back. Ended up not being helpful and just worked it out myself after wasting 4 mins struggling through this. Great mindset and with a bit of work youll get there.

Thanks for doing this one. This is the exact job that I had planned on my VY Storm. The original storm seats were both totally collapsed and split so I swapped in some better executive sedan seats. However the drivers seat still has the same damage that your one had ( but worse) My plan was to chase down a good executive passenger seat for a usable back! Thanks again for making that just a bit easier now! ;)

Hey mate i have same issue, mechanic wants to charge me a bit to get it fixed. Im going to pick up the new slip ring tomorrow $148 then i watched your video, is it really that easy to install it? If so, I'm going to do it myself aha but take my time putting it back on the ignition barrel. My battery also is under 11.87V when idling my fuel consumption is crap, also a new battery would help do you recommend?
@mwoods2062

The slipring is simple to install. You need at least 13volts at idle minimum so it sounds like an alternator.

@@mwoods2062 okay to easy I'll see how my confidence is might give it a go my self. Well my battery is kinda dying anyways it's showing red not much green so I'm guessing it's the battery since it's been sitting in someone's driveway then it's been sitting at the car yard I brought it from, so the battery might be due for a change over. The alternator seems to be all good.

I saw a video of a bloke using a small dob of super glue in multiple spots to hold the gasket in place for fitting. Superglue dries hard and cork is soft. So it seems that that approach would be dodgy perhaps. Another fella uses 250 ml of an additive which may help the gearbox oil do its thing. What are your thoughts on doing such things. Thx
