Great sound. I have a JCM 900 4501combo that's been my main amp since 1991. I don't understand why the 900s get such a bad rap. I love mine and it sounds great both at home and on the bandstand.
@jimraimondi41021 күн бұрын
The bad rap is strange for sure. The amp actually sounds way better than what it sounds like in this video. I had the speaker cabinet on the floor and the garage creates a harsh reverberating sound.

I have to say this is a great sounding pickup. I tried it on guitar a friend of mine has. He put it in an Epiphone Les Paul Jerry Cantrell model.

That's an awesome guitar, did you have any output balancing issues between P-90 and a lipstick?

I've been using SD distortion humbuckers since the early 90s. I've put them in everything from Fender to Ibanez to LTDs. They always deliver. Reminds me of a sharp knife. Great pickups.

100% just be aware that some squire bodies are not as thick as a MIM or US body. If using a standard large block Fender tremolo system, the block may protrude thru the back side cavity .

Why paint a original fender body in a non custom colour or original sunburst?

Man I don’t know why it was refinished. I need to ask the owner again why they refinished it.

Very nice guitar, Jim. It looks like a lipstick and a P-90 pickup......and sounds like a million bucks !!! Excellent demo, short and very sweet.
@jimraimondi4106 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes, I built a really nice pickup winding machine and wound both pickup coils. I purchased the pickup kit for the lipstick tube from All parts and the kit for the A-90 from a place called Tone Kraft. The A90 is like a cross between a P90 and a Jazz master pickup. It was a fun first guitar build and I am already working on the 2nd build.

Great tone. What amp is this?
@jraimondi6 жыл бұрын
It's a 1976 Fender PA100 amplifier that I completely rewired...it has 2 channels, the first channel is wired like a Plexi and the 2nd is wired like a typical fender blackface.
@davidallen3466 жыл бұрын
That sounds good ! Pure Saturation like a vintage Paf tone !

Hey. Amazing tone. You've really captured the bronze strat to my ears. What is the spec of the guitar? Pickups and neck and the wiring? Was there another video showing this? I was looking to create my own version.
@jraimondi7 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I sold her shortly after posting this video. The pickups are Sullivan Hand wound STG65 pickups. They are awesome pickups and you can find there store on ebay. The wiring I used was :Strat with Series Blend Pot This wiring setup uses a Blend control to change Positions 1 & 5. As the Blend control is rotated from fully counter-clockwise to fully clockwise, Position 1 changes from being the Bridge pickup by itself to being the Middle & Bridge pickups in series. Position 5 changes from being the Neck pickup by itself to being the Neck & Middle pickups in series. A side effect of this is that Positions 2 & 4 also change. As the Blend control is rotated from fully counter clockwise to fully clockwise, Position 2 changes from being the Middle & Bridge pickups in parallel to being the Middle pickup by itself. Position 4 changes from being the Middle & Neck pickups in parallel to also being the Middle pickup by itself. 5-Way Switchingwith Series Blend: Blend Pot Fully Counter-Clockwise (Standard Strat): 1. Bridge2. Middle & Bridge in Parallel3. Middle4. Middle & Neck in Parallel5. Neck Blend Pot Fully Clockwise (Series Mode): 1. Middle & Bridge in Series2. Middle3. Middle4. Middle5. Neck & Middle in Series
