You were fortunate to have the time together with colleagues and kids at Camp St. Croix to bond as the kiddos started middle school. I love that what you and Dan decided NOT to tell brought more laughs and smiles than what you did tell!

Angie is fortunate to have a talented teacher/tech guy to assist in getting computers out to students. Your golf adventure with Angie, E, and O looks very smile-producing, as did your time with your brother and the rest of "the boys". Happy for you to have those fun times together.

I completely feel and understand the realities you describe. They can hit hard and make you wonder where the smiles went. But then bits of happiness appear and those smile muscles work again. Poignant piece, Dean.

Dean, I really enjoyed this episode. What a wonderful environment the Annandale Art and Textile Center is, both for the weavers and for observers. How fortunate you were to spend time there, collecting new smiles, after a frustrating trip through traffic. It's great to find unexpected joy. --Jill

Hi from Australia, Dean. Just came across your channel as I am walking around a beautiful country Lakeside trying to get fit on a day off. My targets are retiring 18 months and one of the biggest areas of my thinking other than money is exactly this. I’ve been reflecting on the idea of doing my own podcast and mapping lessons learnt along with others on the journey to this next state of life and to learn from those who are already there. Who knows, there maybe some opportunity to team now and then. Thank you for your open and vulnerable presentation, we think quite similarly about connection with people. I hope your channel grow successfully without taking too much time

Pierre, thank you so much for the kind comments. Retiring is a beautiful, bizarre and very weird journey. The fact that you are already thinking of a podcast and lessons to share puts you way ahead of many. I wish the best and feel free to connect anytime.

The morning sunshine reflecting off the lake and the full moon always put a smile on my face.
