Lovely. I wonder in future though if you might show the whole plant as well as the close up of the flowers? When choosing it's really helpful to be able to picture the size and form.

I have purchased salvias from Great Comp. It is a beautiful garden. It's now late July and I haven't yet pruned my shrubby salivas back as I was afraid to do so whilst they were flowering. They are now looking pretty miserable, not many flowers, so should I be drastic and cut them back now? Will I harm the plants if I don't get it right? I am very much an amateur gardener.

I can't wait until we are allowed to get out and about again...I'd love to visit your garden and nursery? As I love salvias. Question: Last Autumn I took cuttings of S.guaranitica 'Black & Blue', 3 are good, now 40 cms tall. Do I pinch out the tips to make them bushier, or take the cutting right down to say 15cms? Last winter I lost my plants of S.'Amistad' and 'Love & Wishes, so will take cuttings of these.

Exactly what I was looking for. We have several shrubby Mexican salvias and I've been searching for how best to prune them. Great timing too. Must remember the later Hampton Hack prune too. Thank you William.

I've "discovered" salvias in more recent years. What a lovely, flowerful group of plants, one which makes a real impact in the garden. I'm learning how to take better care of them and your video is helpful and timely. Thanks.
