@@zilicontech I watched it, it wasn’t producing sound due to a shorted mofset, After you removed it it started producing sound. My question is 1. Does that mofset not have significant purpose, I mean I didn’t see you replacing it with another one 2. Will it perform like when it was new when the shorted mofset has not been removed

And again, watch the video and listen to what was being said, and note, the video was a report of what was done not a real-time repair. Your comment didn't show you watched the video. How would the gadget work if the problem was not fixed?

No. I didn't turn it on the board. I just checked if the downward is supplying voltage. In summary, what made the phone work was disconnecting and connecting the battery. Yes, you are absolutely right. For X1 carbon, the front bezel only keeps the screen in place. The screen is safely secured because, the front bezel has double sided tapes that sealed the screen against the frame. However, in some laptops with frameless screen, they use different method. The double sided tape would be applied behind the screen. All methods are safe.

@@A4orce84 No. The double sided tape is on the front bezel only. You'll find it there in yours. I don't think you need to replace the ones found there except the ones there have become very weak.

It wasn't. The RAM is dead. RAM shouldn't take that long to POST (Power-On Self-Test). A working PC with good RAM should POST in less than 10 secs. It becomes longer if there was a BIOS reset. NB: POST is the first thing that appears before the operation is passed on to the OS.

Have you tried another screen on it?

General board failure. Remove the CMOS battery, press and hold power button for at least 30 seconds. See if that solves the problem

Good observation. It has nothing to do with the lesson. There was a mix up along the way. CMOS battery removal can be very effective in solving many PC problems though. You will confirm that in some of the videos in my channel.

It has its advantage though. Can loose a screw faster with it. And it is way easier to loose a screw that is in a hole with much depth

All I have are just a phone, a phone holder and the knowledge of 'how to fix computers' which I'm ready to share to those who are ready to learn. I believe the quality would improve with time. What do you think about the accent? What do you think can be done to make my accent clear and understandable to varieties of people from different races? @@zilicontech I believe online there are free SaaS sites to read out scripts (AI), so use just pics and drawing and occ video of yourself whilst the script is read out in British or American Accents

Thanks Dave. I'm having difficult time in understanding what "OCC video of myself" mean. I couldn't find helpful result online either. All the result pointed to 'education' I don't seem to like the idea of AI, I want to be real as possible. And regarding the use of images, each episode is in two parts- 1. Theory (brief explanation of A2Z of a particular thing) 2. Practical (showing what could go wrong, how to diagnose and have the problem resolved) I'm thinking using AI might not help me to achieve the goal. I will love to know what I can do about my accent. Is the problem about enunciation? Or something else. I like to continue with my voice so as to sound human and real as possible. Thanks again Dave

@@zilicontech OCC is short for occasional (not all the time). You can get speaking out services for free on the internet (so you write your script and the service reads it out). If not using AI these things are OK in terms of enunciation, not the best but OK. You would have to dig around Qwant to find the websites that do this. Your accent is WAAAAAYY too different from King's English so people are not used to it, hence difficult to understand. It's not just single words but intonation rhythm use of tongue or phonation, not easy to change overnight. I suggest you see David Suchet reading the King James Version Bible and try to follow along to improve.
