I always get confused by these dates; is the 16th the gig Floyd themselves released as the extras on the DSOTM and WUWH 2011 releases? If so, is it true the 15th had a different soundman that was fired due to poor sound? Plus he used (with their agreement?) a bit of Syd Barrett playing (Dark Globe..."won't you miss me") in the early moments of Shine on...?

Ah! No worries! I think I mean the 14th. They had a legendary slagging off from journalist Nick Kent for the performance. That means it could be a mix of the 15th/16th on the 2011 official releases.
@AlbertoVannelli15 күн бұрын
@lewlew67 probably also the concert published in streaming from 23 January 1972 in Portsmouth was a mix with a different concert

@@AlbertoVannelli Typical, says this on Wikipedia... The tracks on the Wish You Were Here Immersion box set were recorded on 15 November 1974. The tracks from "Speak To Me" to "The Great Gig in the Sky" were recorded on 16 November 1974, while the tracks from "Money" to "Eclipse" were recorded on 15 November 1974, with patches from the 16th.[1] "Echoes" was recorded on 16 November 1974. That means my query about the 14th still stands so if anyone knows I'd love to hear from them!

Little did the fans realize, but they had just heard the first ever part of Dark Side Of The Moon on this awesome gig as "The Violent Sequence" is none other than the early instrumental version of Us And Them! Even Pink Floyd themselves didn't realize it, as they originally composed "The Violent Sequence" for the 1970 Zabriskie Point soundtrack. Unfortunately film director Michelangelo Antonioni rejected the song as he believed it was "too sad" and reminded him of church.
