You forgot to say what type of steel is needed. Ie: thickness or hardness.

I have been trying to reproduce some of the Aeroplane constructor models and seeing these press's makes me weep knowing all the filing I have done to make one simple cut. Wonderful to see this stuff being kept and used

Very nice to see you and the boy working together. My sons are only just old enough to start using the few bits I will have and I was disappointed to find the metal stuff that I used maybe 40 years ago is no longer made. I have subscribed to your channel.

What kind of metal do you use, what is its thickness, I would like to try it. excellent job

Do you make your own? Meccano these days isn't what it used to be. Is old Meccano safe? Didn't they use lead paint once?

Hi Johnny, wish I had your machines, very impressive!! Keep up the good work! What's happened to the nzmeccano web site, it's all changed (again), Bob duck, nzmeccano. I've just made a batch of different Strip & plate benders!

Excuse me if I get somewhat emotional... I got my Meccano in 1965, and to see this 21st century young boy so earnestly working to reproduce my childhood marvels... I'm at a loss for words.

I'll have 40,000 of those girders please... :D

Hi Johnny, Wish I had some of these machines. I do however have a Whitney Hand Punch (Imperial), which easily punches 5/32 holes in sheet metal. You can fasten a Meccano Strip or Plate once you get one or two holes in place. It's better if you space the Meccano part away from your metal, use a nut & bolts (or half nut), this makes it easier to align. Other punches are available, there is also a bench mounted one! Very interesting video, can we have more of these! Bob Duck

Was this a visit to the new SpinMaster factory? Do they employ child labour?
@johnnymeccano11838 жыл бұрын
+newspaniard Not Spin Master John. Jack and Johnny bent the angle girders correctly unlike Spin Master. Lol! 😁
@johnnymeccano118310 жыл бұрын
The power problem, or lack thereof, was solved by putting a Meccano 19:1 gearbox inline with the underpowered French motor and the screwed rod. It works a treat now.
@newspaniard10 жыл бұрын
So, you hacked the power problem? Or, you faked it? :0)
