Does this rose resemble an iceberg rose in its first year? I recently purchased this rose (according to the tag) but the flowers don’t seem as dense as yours.
@thegardenfix16 күн бұрын
This was the second year for us with this rose. The first year was pretty boring. We noticed a tremendous difference in the second year after it really became established. Yes... the flowers grow in clusters (as iceberg roses do)

Ha,ha. I just found your Black Dragon video doing a search on them! I am getting ready to purchase one now. I love the interesting shape of them. It's also nice to see the smaller evergreens for this area in particular. A lot of videos I watch are aimed for more southern zones. I have been trying to focus on some trees in general for my yard this year. But in particular I want some smaller evergreens.

Do you trim the patio peach? I let mine grow out a bit and am planning on nipping them soon.

First year with it... I'm going to prune it a little in very early spring.

I didn’t know you could deadhead them for more blooms! Thank you!
@thegardenfixАй бұрын
We got some additional modest blooms after deadheading. Birds love the seeds in fall and winter, though, so you may be sacrificing some of that. Good luck.

Yes...cut it back. 👍 the flowers are a short-lived benefit. The gorgeous foliage is the year round attraction.

Nasty messy trees. I call them chipmunk trees assuming that’s how they get planted but they grow fast, make a mess and have a penchant for black tar fungus.

Are there no squirrels in your neighborhood? In my neighborhood the squirrels eat all the mulberries before they’re even ripe. Us humans never even get a chance at them, lol.

@thegardenfix4 ай бұрын
That's interesting. We invested in about 10, all thriving. I pretty much chucked them in the ground. Some in part shade, some in full sun... in fast draining clay soil. I wonder what happened with yours.

Have you started this plant from seeds? I have some seeds ready to go and would love any tips! 💚
@thegardenfix4 ай бұрын
We didn't. This is the result of a tiny store bought plant from a single flat container. It has grown...and we have divided it. I hope you decide to grow it. I'm sure it would be easy for ya. 😊👍

I got some lungwort from a neighbour and it's just lovely! I do think it needs a bit more water than what my garden naturally provides, so something to keep in mind when considering a spot for lungwort! Thanks for the video! 😊
@thegardenfix4 ай бұрын
We haven't had that problem. The only time ours really wilt is when it gets too many hours of sunlight. As the summer passes, I try to make sure some plants are giving it some shade. It could be because we get a lot of rain in Western Pa. Maybe we don't dry out as quickly.
