I don't see all the hubbub about Noxious Gash. It's literally the same people who were upset that Kaiten was taken out in Endwalker; Kaiten didn't 'add' anything to SAM other than a small damage increase, which was (and is still) supplemented by the buffs they gave to potency. Same with Noxious Gash; why bother having to reapply a debuff that you automatically apply during your rotation anyways when it could just be a potency increase? -Especially- when it baited people into taking the lower potency combo just to reapply the debuff, instead of doing the higher potency 1-2-3 combo at the time. You get the same damage now without the debuff, and you play almost exactly the same. Now with the additional benefit that you can triple Reawaken if you want to. But its a hotfix, meaning it's probably game and server stability fixes. I don't see them doing any more job reworks until at least 7.1

@@Unrivaled_Evo Meh, those people dont know what they want, and are the same people that hate on Action Change Settings (which are entirely optional UI element) while chanting "you're killing my job expression by making 2 buttons have the option of being 1 button!". I was fine with Noxious Gash before, and I don't mind the changes, though I advocated for SE to let it cook, and that it was too early to be listening to the loud people that had less than a month of experience with the class. Overall, im with TKing95, I dont see what all the hubbub is about, it wasnt a job defining trait, no damage lost, and its still plenty busy. I am liking viper at 100.

@@Unrivaled_Evo because using one neuron to determine whether you should apply Noxious Gash or not depending on if the boss it out of range or going into a phase transition made the job interesting, right? I'm fine with them taking away Noxious Gash, it literally served no purpose other than filler. I just wish they'd have given us something more interesting instead of it. But I agree 100% that VPR's a braindead class, it was even WITH Noxious Gash, because upkeeping a 20 second debuff isn't some 5D 200IQ chess big-brain skill ceiling like the really popular super smart, ultra successful. well-adjusted giga-chad 'hardcore' community keep making it out to be.

I doubt they will but who knows - they added Ice Paradox back! As far as noxious gash specifically, I haven’t even touched Viper yet so as long as they figure the class out before I start playing it I’ll be happy lol

@@TKing95 i was mostly joking but as someone who likes viper, it was just fun trying to fit as many higher potency combos in before having to reapply the buff via the lower potency combo. The change removed a decision for me, the player, to make, even if it was a pretty inconsequential decision (do I have enough time for a combo before my buff expires?) and instead makes it more automatic (just do the combo starter that is lit up) debuffs are naturally a lot of fun because of the sounds it makes, the feedback of applying it onto enemies, and watching it tick down puts some pressure onto the player. also it makes you pay attention to another spot of your HUD (enemy debuffs instead of just ur buffs) which can make things feel more engaging!!! I just think it would be funny if they rolled a controversial change back like instantly in a hotfix lol

Black mage is not expected to get any more updates that we know of currently in tomorrow’s patch. I have a different opinion - I actually really enjoy a bit of BLM still (BLM main since 2.5). I think that the only thing that isn’t great is flare star, to me it still feels like an after thought attack. That party seems very toxic - unfortunately, there are some toxic people in this game that are too focused on “optimization” even though all content can be cleared by any class.

@@Pyra_Sydannia I mean, we're officially not really 'expecting' any changes on any class besides possibly one to viper at this point, but if they're consistent with every patch .05 in history they'll absolutely make changes to BLM. Every job in the game is most likely receiving atleast one change if not more. They'll atleast give BLM a potency buff. It has absolutely no reason to be doing as little damage as it does given it's a selfish DPS caster. NIN and Dragoon will probably receive slight buffs as well I imagine.
