Honestly, I personally was thinking on the same line, but when I started driving Kias and Hyundais as part of my job, I started looking at them as practical, economic and easier to maintain options for daily drivers. This Optima, for example, would be much cheaper to maintain while costing you much less if you were to purchase a 'similar' BMW 5-series. Besides, you wouldn't hesitate to use this car as a daily driver to put on tons of miles on it, whereas with BMW, the more miles you put, the bigger the hit it's going to take on the resale value, plus it is going to be much costlier to maintain. Again, different perspectives and tastes. But I do appreciate your thoughts.
