Loved SILVERSTREAM, and had a lap record at Gare D'Europa at 18 point something seconds due to a glitch! that was funny, and unbeatable, tried to hit the glitch again, and did a couple of times but ended up in the wrong direction. So many great tracks! And, also ALL of the FUSION tracks.

13 years late to this video but i still cant stress this enough. This video is amazing. I recently dug up my old psp 1000 since i saw there was a big modding scene for it. And when i started it i found wipeout pure on it, a game i had no idea i had even bought. But boy was it a blast. At least until i got to the third difficulty and got completely stuck with the gold medals. That is until i found this video. i mean there are controls that are shown in this video that i had no idea even existed. So i just wanted to say thank you for helping me enjoy wipeout pure (and pulse in the future) for a little longer!

It'd be nice if one of these days a racing game like this actually used its interesting background lore and worldbuilding to do something in a career or campaign mode, and allow players to actually experience some of that. Hell, with the modern obsession over "Live Service Games" I don't know why they couldn't shape the lore around the leaderboards.

It has now been decades since I played Wipeout on PS1 and my favorite Wipeout 2097 and I have forgotten names or which ships I used. Piranha was my fave by far in W1, but I do remember Silverstream being fairly doable without making contact.There were other tracks I found harder. I forget the ships name, but I seem to recall that I used the purple one, or maybe Goteki. I have managed to beat each track perfectly on both games at all difficulties, but back then I was living for this game. I have long been missing those days and until now I had never even realised that it is still possible to buy the PS1 and these treasured games. Thanks to you I looked all this up and now my passion is seriously rekindled. I will be buying myself a new PS1 and my favorite games soon enough. Why on Earth do you have so few followers ? WIPEOUT is such a distinguished game, and I would like to praise your videos. You deliver amongst the highest quality of professionally executed videos with expert knowledge second to none. I have the highest regard for you and your material. I wish I had stumbled upon this sooner despite being a Wipeout 1 & 2 Veteran. The 3rd lost me a bit, but it was due to Playstation 3 being so pricey and going online that I parted ways, but not for lack of love for this jewel of a series. I am not usually a fan of racing games, but air brakes sold me. I hope there is more to come in the future, and I hope you will still be here to present it. I played wipeout pulse on the psp many years ago and find this game really difficult. Especially the AI enemies are tough for me

I was eagerly interested in the story you told (question, is it Kanon though ?), but whilst you were explaining, I was so immersed in the racing. I still know all tracks off by heart on the first 3 Wipeouts. I never continued Playstation when the third came out, but my undivided love for this game has only grown stronger and I miss it so much. I would love nothing more than to race against whoever was piloting these craft during this video. I still pray to the god of excellence that Wipeout not only makes a comeback, but that they do a makeover of all games to date with extra content but without changing the controls or the handling. This game should be classified as a narcotic because it is so addictive from the moment you understand the handling and know your tracks. Are you anywhere near the London or Surrey area and up for a race?

Wipeout 2048 was my favorite from the series. Glad it got remade for PS4 with a pro upgrade. Still gotta get the PSVR though

something to note about the autopilot in fusion: it was significantly less reliable compared to other game's incarnations of it. in some maps, using it in the wrong spot (in open areas or near forks in the road) would render your ship completely unresponsive while its active. ive lost races multiple times due to it turning my craft into a glorified merry-go-round while getting stuck on a wall.

I needed this video in 2012, maybe then i wouldn't have given up on WipEout HD Fury. Well even with the video, WipEout has too many problem i can not get past.

I played WipEout HD for a few hours. Never got into it, never understood what the game actually wanted from me. The controls and the game play was just so... meh. Constantly hitting the wall was not fun.

My ratings: WipEout: BANGER ALERT WipEout 2097: ergh... okay? The music just don't do it for me WipEout 3: goosebumps WipEout Fusion: next level of creepiness and tense WipEout Pure: simply WipEout Pulse: ANOTHER BANGER but pulse is mid tbh imo WipEout 2048: last and not the least, they went all out for another banger music for the last time

For some of the uninitiated, The A+ speed class in 2048 is the equivalent of a hypothetical "Super Phantom" class in the HD/Fury era; they were even faster than the Phantom class, which was the highest speed class from 2097 and onwards. They were also much more downsized, as these were basically the first era of the AG racers chronologically in the Wipeout timeline. They were about the same size as a large car, and were racing at Super Phantom speeds on city courses.... yea you can see how that can go.

Temtesh Bay 2 is definitely the biggest bastard of all. The turns and bulkheads inside the mine are just factually poor track design by any standard. Hard to believe this track made it into the final release, but Fusion overall is buggy, lacks polish and has multiple awful decisions, so i guess it's not too surprising. Shame though, that game had a ton of potential.

The physics in the new Wipeout games is just not the same. The original physics made the ships feel like they had weight and you had to work to Master a track. Now it looks like the ships have no weight and are on a rail, it just looks and feels ridiculous. The graphics are way too bright and colorful and it looses that dark industrial feel.

Something I've noticed about Zone Battles is that sometimes when you do a Zone Boost, you get a shield anyway. I'm not sure what the rules for it are but it happens in both the PS3 and PS4 versions

So, I just found this video while looking for the soundtrack and boy, am I glad I did! This feels fresh and so informative, especially considering that the info does not get through from the game itself. This sounds like a proper documentary, the voice and delivery doubles that feeling and I love it! Also, the video itself does Not feel 12 years old at all, this feels like it came out a few days ago and to me, that really shows the quality of the production!
