My dad builds 5-7 Flatheads a year, for himself or for other guys. He has 3 or 4 V8 Flathead powered cars and trucks, and he drives them often.

Only a hand full of car makes can beat a Ford for a gasser build. Kaiser Henry-J / Allstate. 1959 Oldsmobile wagon. a 1957 -1959 Chrysler 300, a 1961 DeSoto Fireflight. To qualify: A car must be able to win at the local county fair demo derby THEN hit the drag strip THEN take a wax n buff and off to the drive-in for ice cream.

My brother and I both have original unrestored Corvettes built 9 months before we were born... we do have another RARE LT1. It's the only black 1971 LT1 built, 20 letters back and forth with GM to get it built Black Black Leather PS PB tilt tele rear defog white letter tires 3.70 with M21. No radio ordered. Needs complete restoration most NOS parts to complete the resto are with the car. TRIM Weatherstripping, wiring, all suspension NOS correct, major jobs are drivetrain rebuild, paint and plating the front and rear bumpers.

LOL, the more things change the more they stay the same...I have a 1998 Ranger and in Winter I have to either let it sit for 20 minutes to get warm enough to defrost the windshield or go ahead and take off and by the time I get to town 3 miles away, the temp gauge will just be starting to get up to "normal", LOL! That turn signal lever on the column looks like one of those "universal" ones they had in the JC Whitney catalogues when I was a kid. I'd see if I could find an original oil bath air cleaner for that carb. Looks like a sweet old truck! Seeing that alternator I assume it's been converted to 12v? I bet it makes it easier to start anyhow, lol.
@TheJagjr445010 ай бұрын
Yes, because there were no turn signals at the time the only option was to add on an external lever. It was my dad's truck, which he went overboard on restoring, then said it turned out way too nice for him to use so he sold it on BAT. He already has a restored 1940 FORD Woodie Wagon, 57 Chevy Wagon, 41 FORD 3/4 ton stake bed truck, 41 FORD panel truck, 1939 9N tractor, 1948 8N with a flathead V8 conversion and my mom has a 68 442 convertible. So they have enough old vehicles from which to choose. I've got a couple of old vettes and a GTO
