Paul makes the best guitars money can buy! I had mine built in 2001 and it still blows me away daily. This one on here is stunning but trust me when I say: the one I had built in 2021 looks just as good! If you ever get the chance to buy one if these: buy it! Better than any big name brand. Victor...

A bit ! The expensive one is more fun for the player - lot of BS with instruments

not 1988, that's 1998. Rickenbacker's 'official' serial number checker gets confused with 1988 and 1998 due to some serial numbers getting duplicated in those years.

Are the pickups the SAME? Because the sg and the semi hollow sound almost the same, save the semi hollow has a certain woodier echoed sound. The lead playing on them was nearly identical, the slight difference is more apparent on chord work. The Hollowbody has a flat tinny sound. So......

The cause of the difference must also be considered due to the difference in the tailpiece.

I have one of these in black with a gold Tune-o-matic my dad gave me as my first guitar. I felt very spoiled. He bought it in 1977, and it basically sat in the case until 2001, when I started learning.

Brilliant ! They sound and play great but it’s always difficult to get hold of one for a decent price and knowing if it definitely is a JV or a later Squier that someone is trying to pass off as the good stuff !

My first proper guitar was an '84 SQ Squier strat that I bought in 1984. Great guitars.

Fender still makes crap. You get standard quality when you buy custom shop. The ultimate nonsense are these guitars they call "Roadworn". I mean; give me your guitar and I'll make it look old for a tenth of the buck. What the fockin hell is good about that? Nearly everything you buy from the brand "that creates urban legends" has to be modded, has to be worked on. That is why I don't buy any Fender stuff for over 20 years now.
@gnatiu11 күн бұрын
Da peckups maid in the ee es ee, huh? You know what, all that "master(bationist) built" f.cking bulls.it crap should be shoven in Fender's arse. They sell things for enormous amounts to idiots who buy it. Back in the day you could get a lifetime decent guitar for a third of what you pay today. Hendrix did not play "masterbaturist built" fucktom shop bul.sh.t. I am so bored by the USA and the Orange guy will not make it any better. My ass USA.

NOT EARLY ENOUGH ! ......First Japan Fenders had a FENDER LOGO not SQUIER ! That came the second half of the first year I believe the FENDER LOGO was from MAY to JULY !

GOT ONE!!!! 1982 JV 57, neck dated August - has had a fair few mods to it such as a new set of pickups and refret in the early 90's, the finish on the back of the neck is sanded down as well. Original neck and body hold so much resonance, and is unbelievably smooth to play, by far the best I've played

What a great tone, man! Thanks for this video. Which chorus/delay did you use at 6:33 and 7:50? Sounds superb!
@MartinWaughGITA11 күн бұрын
Hi fella, thanks for the kind words. The chorus is a 80s Boss Dimension C and Collider Delay. To be fair, any delay works well with the Dimension c. 😊

I remember when the first JV's came out, with the large FENDER LOGO at the end of 1982 whenI was a student in Cardiff UK. They were some £189.99 or so, and they were not affordable to me at the time, though I recognised how great they were. Since then I had a few, but they went the way, So I am so happy to have found another in vintage original condition to join my humbe collection.
