This is how you'd connect the pieces while you are knitting them but it's tricky (I speak from experience). An easier way is to connect the pieces after you make them by sewing, crocheting, or knitting them together.

Watched this at least 20 times. Every other step is fine other than connecting and the rust row. Somehow it keeps getting twisted even though I’m straightening it out. I’m watching your hand movements as well just in case I’m twisting my hand. I still don’t get it.

i ALMOST did it but when i was making the hat thicker near the beginning like going around and doing the too parts i accidentally twisted it so sadly i have to restart tomorrow (this is also my first time crocheting!) its really hard to not twist it though
