Hi just pinning a comment here. I know some people have commented on this vid but for some reason the comments aren't showing and I can't reply. I'll put 2 replies here and add to them if it doesn't start working. The like button problem sorted itself out it seems - the likes are there now. The road I was riding was Wheelbarrow Ridge Road - its just off the Putty Road at Colo Heights.

@returnrider4952Ай бұрын
Hey mate, yes I have. Its fitted with a Quadlock mount. They're a company based in Melbourne. I use they're mounts on my bikes and in my car - fantastic set up. This one has a USB charger wired directly to the battery and a vibration dampener to protect the phone from the bike vibrations and also rough roads and stuff. I have no affiliation with them at all but I would highly recomment them. They also sell cases for phones so your phone attaches directly to the mounts. www.quadlockcase.com.au/collections/shop-motorcycle

Ha ha! love you're constant distractions for the scenery :) I have tubeless Rims and very happy with that - I do remember from my bicycle days that your mechanic was bang on about the valve nut - another thing that helps is to very slightly inflate the tube before you finish putting the tyre on - this helps the tube sit away from the rims as you put the levers in.
@returnrider4952Ай бұрын
I am nothing if not very easily distracted. 🙂 That is one thing I miss about the NC - the tubeless rims I could plug (and did) and just keep going. I did have a bit of air in the tube but I think I had too much at one point which was more of a hinderance then a help. Thanks for watching. RSm8
@anthonya7066Ай бұрын
If you ride a tubed bike, particularly off road then it’s a must to practice flat repair. And best to practice at home so good job
@returnrider4952Ай бұрын
Yeah 100%. I was always very nervous about what I would do if I got a flat - not so much now. As long as I take my time I'll be fine.
@AfricaTwin-StuffАй бұрын
Not many of us haven’t pinched a tube at one time or another. Apart from the valve advice I find having a little air in the tube also helps to prevent the pinch flat. And agree, there is satisfaction going it yourself. “Having a go” seems to be uncommon these days.
@returnrider4952Ай бұрын
Hey thanks Adrian. I think I actually had a bit too much air in the front tube before I got it right. Feel a lot better now I've done it in case I get a flat out on the road 🙂

Bloody hell mate! Close shaves! Bad enough cars on the wrong side of the road, but on a bike it's un-forgivable. And that truckie was going fast enough to kill anyone else who might have wanted to use the road (nice avoid by you) - disgraceful driving! They are spreading that same gravel all over the dirt roads up here ever since the floods, horrible to ride on! Nice day out on the bike though mate! 👍
@returnrider49522 ай бұрын
There's a few crazy things going on out there recently. Yeah, the bike on the wrong side of the road is just crazy - if I was a 4WD or that truck it could have ended much worse. And the trucks fly down those roads trying to meet their deadlines. The gravel was soooo bad but definitely a lovely day out on the bike. I'll get up there again before too long - maybe when they've finished the road and the cars have knocked off some of the gravel LOL. Hope you're well. RSM8.
@AfricaTwin-Stuff2 ай бұрын
Gravel - don’t knock yourself. It’s just a pain. The main Wattagan roads have the same thick gravel. It’s not fun.
@returnrider49522 ай бұрын
It's def not fun but its OK if you slow down a bit. That road has lots of the stuff, small marble sized over very hard dry clay. Very difficult for me.

Those truck really hammer thru the dirt roads. I was in the Wattagans a couple of days ago and was covered in choking dust from a very fast moving logging truck. Luckily I was hugging the side of the road.
@returnrider49522 ай бұрын
Yep, they sure do. Luckily I had room to move and so did he. I'd hate to meet one of those guys head on. I took a little detour into the Wattagans when I was up there, it was closed due to a landslip but I managed to ride Murray's Run Road. Very nice. Video to come where I crap on about tyres LOL.

@@returnrider4952 - have you tried Wattagan creek road? It comes out at Laguna. It’s a good ride at present. I did the loop from Martinsville, thru to Wattagan creek road to Laguna then back via Murray’s run and walkers ridge road.

@@AfricaTwin-Stuff No I haven't, I've only been in there the once and when I got to Murray's Run Road from The Letter A there was a big sign up that said "land slip ahead, road closed" and a detour sign leading back out. I didn't bother going in or any further through once I saw that sign. I discovered it a half dozen or so years ago. As children, we'd spent all out August school holidays in the Mountains, and my parents retired there. In a lifetime of nearly 70 years, I knew nothing about it until I went for a drive out there. Blown away by the views at the end, and I've been back several times since. I've never been game to go to the lower lookout. Battleship Tops must have been magnificent before the vandals got to it. I did some checking and they received solid sentences.

Bought mine a year ago , after a riding career of over 60 years (now 77 } on Bmw GS needed something alot lighter and this has proved to be a great little bike, just right for me . Low centre of gravity means its easy to handle at slow speeds, and the lowish seat is a great help. Did Corsica/Sardinia last year , (from the UK ) no worries, Croatia this year and Greece next , dont expect any problems, after all its a Honda

Nice video. I have a '14 with Arrow full exhaust and it sounds so good at 7,000 RPM that it's hard to resist. Of course winding 3rd out to 7K and shifting to 4th puts you over 100 MPH which is arrest speed where I live so I don't risk it very often. The bike is just as happy on country roads between 40 & 60 MPH with much less drama. It's a shame that the greenies put a stop to the fun a couple of years ago. As it is mine will most likely be putting smiles on somebody else's face after I'm long gone.
