Parker, your videos are wonderful! Few questions, the Ricoh GRii multiple exposure, does it only work image to image live or can you pull an image stored on your card and then add an image to that? What is the diameter of the ring light you are using, because it seemed like you were limited to about 8x10 size to get full image shooting from above--the resolution of the ricoh grii isn't that high, are you not printing these images that large, though I read that it's actually sharper than the Griii (even though it has more megapixels) because of its construction, is that true? I remember you said you had both cameras. It's very difficult to find even an old GRii and they are at least 800, or a GRiii, apparently you prefer the closer lens also for this purpose I would imagine as well. It also seems that the new fuji that just came out, many people are disappointed in...very hard to find a compact small camera that has really good multi exposure...any other ideas? Thanks for the unique content, so much better than the bulk of what is out there!

I also use an iPhone as an alternative camera. Although it can shoot in RAW, I just set it to the high contrast black and white Noir filter, 1 1/3 stops underexposed, and square format frame. I don’t post process them and just leave them as is. Another process I like, is to adapt old slide projector lenses to my camera and shoot portraits with that setup. Thank you for sharing your ideas and images.

Beautiful work sir!! Do you use the GRs exclusively for travel?? Do you find 2.8 os wide open enough for you? Just curious as I’m trying to find an ideal light-weight travel set up for myself, but somehow I’ve ended up with a monster 35-150 and a Leica Q2. Starting to think the GRiiix may be a better complement to the Leica. Do you ever miss a longer reach than 40?
@parkerpfister32482 жыл бұрын
Thanks James. Over the last few years, yes the Ricoh's have been my main travel companion. I sold my Q2 as it couldn't be with me all the time because of size. I do miss the Q2! I could shoot in the pouring rain with it. You cant do that with the Ricoh's. Well, I have! But I put it in a sandwich bag! lol I do also occasionally want a longer lens but in the end iv'e learned to use what ive got with me and the Ricoh is ALWAYS with me. in my front pants pocket or right on top of my steering wheel. Oh, and 2.8 is fine for most things. I do miss the 1.7 of the Q2 though sometimes...shit, now i might have to re buy a Q2...Thanks! lol

@@parkerpfister3248 Haha! Woops. Sorry! I know theyre damn expensive. I still love mine, theyre indestructable and I carry it everywhere when i travel mode, but there's times when I'm not in photo mode that I wish I had one sitting in my pocket! Thought to get the GRiiix, but at 40mm its pretty much the same as cropping in from the Leica in terms of MP count. We shall see. Do you find 40mm to be similar to 35? Ive never shot a 40, but its approaching 50 and Im not a huge 50mm shooter. Cool to see a mix of drone footage and photos! Your work's beautiful and videos are inspiring. Thanks!!

I came across your video throughout my search for Ricoh gr 3x camera. It's really nice seeing so many great samples looking through your video! At the 1:25 and 1:40 of the video, is it a northern light taken by Ricoh as well? As fas as I know it's a camera for street photography and has no embedded flash. I wonder is it hard to use this camera to capture these lights?
@parkerpfister32482 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Yes ALL of the images (excluding drone) were made with either the Ricoh GR2 or the Ricoh GR3x. They are brilliant for this type of work! Especially with the infinity focus selection. it makes astro photography easier than any other camera! BTW there is a flash on the Ricoh GR2. Thats one reason I do not use the GR3. Thanks again!
