Sir I have one question. If thermometer is in contact with surrounding air and the same thermometer is contact with person having high fever. Then both person and surrounding air is in thermal equilibrium as per zeroth law. However if we touch high fever person and surrounding air we don't feel they are at same temperature. One more thing surrounding air and high fever person can't be seperated from each other. There will be contact between them( surrounding air and person). How do you explain this as per zeroth law ?

As per zeroth law of thermodynamics, we are having three bodies (or system or elements which you need to compare) here which are 1. Surrounding 2. Person with High fever 3. Thermometer When the thermometer is not being used and is kept in the surrounding, the thermometer reads the value of temperature (Say 34 degrees) available in its vicinity (i.e. its surrounding) and when the thermometer is brought in contact with a person suffering from high fever, then the thermometer reads the value of temperature (say 104 degrees) of the person's body (which will be higher than the surrounding temperature as he is suffering from fever) Hence, thermometer is a third body which we used to compare the temperature of two bodies (or systems) i.e. surrounding and the Person's body Now let us consider that the thermometer reads the same value as of surrounding (i.e. 34 degrees) even after making it in contact with the person's body Then we conclude that person is not suffering from fever as he is at the same temperature of surrounding, hence he is thermal equilibrium with the surroundings. And in order to conclude this thermal equilibrium between surrounding and person's body, thermometer was used as third body.
