Indeed, in Season 5 Maudie Returns episode, we found out they were together 20 years ago, and so after WW2. So French was in love after he lost his "one true love" mentioned in Season 1.

One problem with binge watching the entire series is you notice all the inconsistencies and contradictions. In Season 1, we found out that French had had one and only deep love, and that the woman was lost during the blitz. But then in Season 4, we found out Lady Marchwood was an old sweetheart. I assume that happened before his one deep love, but it certainly sounded he and Maudie were more than puppy loves. French was delightful in that episode in spite of the inconsistency.

Cabot was incredibly sexy! It was a product of its time. Not just the main cast, but pretty much everyone was lily white. Sexism was quite blatant, and the frequent cowboys and Indians talk would have been really cringe worthy even just a few years later. But somehow they understood the real meaning of being a family, which unfortunately the family value people these days don't.

At first it was Ken Curtis with some scrub on his face doing his kind of Kansas accent, but later on you could not see Ken Curtis anymore he disappeared and there stood festus!!!

I was 5 yrs old when Family Affair came out, and immediately I liked Buffy and Mr French. This man did not only have a British accent, but a cultured British accent. Sebastian Cabot had great stage presence.

Apparently in real life he actually spoke with a cockney accent. Unlike other British actors with working class background, he did not have much of an education or went to acting school, so not sure how he learnt to speak with Prof Higgins English.

Can the ethanol condense if the surrounding temperature is not freezing cold ? This device can absorb heat to achieve cooling effect because boiling point of ethanol in vacuum is around 15 degree Celsius. But i don't understand how they make the vapour ethanol turn back liquid. I would be very appreciative If someone can tell me.

A quick mind, her works were always delivered with the skill of a premium ballerina, smooth as silk. A well known Russian filmmaker, Alexander Sokurov, in his criticism of the Russian gov't, compared how the Russians wrote "War and peace" (Lev Tolstoy) and the Europeans wrote "All quiet on the Western front"... and maybe Erich Maria Remarque meant something different by the title... at least there is this connotation of Peace... and that Europe wants peace... because Russians fought and fight too many wars...
