I see more prickly pear cacti which are also neglected. There are sheep and yet you do not feed your cacti to the sheep. I see waste.

I see the prickly pear cactus in the background, and how saddly it has been neglected either out of apathy or fear of getting pricked by its thorns. It needs pruning or coppicing to balance its structure.

Pepi, you are correct in using the prickly pear cactus. However, you have stifled yourself with only planting a few. In your climate, it will do well. Mexico has used this plant for thousands of yesrs. It is food, fodder, fiber, fuel, medicine.

If only more people would understand these ideas and start to implement them. Good work!
