This is an awesome variant of the CJ. This has been one of my top patterns for about 15 years. Thanks for sharing a great spin on it!

Have the material coming, will use for bridge tarpon and snook, kind of like a flare hawk. Will add heavy dumbbell to get it down with 600 grain depth charge. Thanks for the video

I use the smallest spook you offer. On a 5wt 8’ fiberglass rod. I paint the spook in dark color/black with hints of orange. I do so for the massive stonefly hatch that happens early summer here in Colorado. The Salmonfly aka Stonefly are very large bugs almost exceeding the 3” mark. Big bugs are clumsy flyers and often end up in the water if so much as a breeze blows by. It is an incredible experience and I appreciate the product that you guys came up with!

My dad and grandfather fished every inch of Back Bay, and often took me along as a small child. We lived next door to Walt Cary. His chickens used to fly over the fence into our yard, and our Weimaraner would kill them. Walt didn't much care, "just throw the carcasses back over the fence, I just need the feathers anyway!" lol. Later we spent a lot of time camping and fishing the Shenandoah with Walt. I remember he used to give us teenagers double-handfuls of free popping bugs out of his studio.

I thought fly tying was about sharing knowledge, not keeping it secret from others.

I always put a small piece off stiff rigtube on the hook. I see it so often, fly tyers hooking themselves up on the hook. Or damaging their thread.

I grew up mostly bass fishing, specifically creek smallmouth. My forever and all time favorite lure is the Heddon Zara Spook. To see these in a fly pattern blows my mind and can NOT wait to get mine delivered!

Awesome tie , I used what I had and I tied this with a longer shank hook with dumbbell eyes on the front , plus I used UV ice fibres in dubbing loops instead of the wrap and works great . Great videos , more please . I love the GameChanger .

I commend the brevity of this presentation--some guys would take 2 or 3 times as long to demo a pattern like that. I usually time out before they get to the end. I take issue with calling closely wound wraps "palmering." That normally means spaced out wraps.
