I had a similar outburst when my own aunt called my pale, ugly, and mousey whenever we were alone, as well as criticize my life choices, how I dressed, ect. She'd mask it as a joke and when I cried, said I was being too overly sensitive and dramatic, which prompted me to never my parents. One Christmas, she cornered me again and I finally had enough. I told my aunt she looked a balding witch with a double chin. She grabbed me by the arm and demanded to her brother, my dad, that I apologize, but my dad told her "For what? I taught my kids to never lie." 😂 He didn't have to roost her that hard.

This was the best ever series of Anne Gables. Every actor in it was just superb.

Rachel did not even knock on the door. She should always be careful about what she says to people. Just because Anne is young does not mean she's not a person with feelings.
